Sure it would. Let's look at an extreme example. Say we were each adding $1000. Then we'd be taking the $30 I owe you and playing for $1000 if I win or $1050 if you win. surely you agree that's a better EV for you than $0 or $50 (on your $30).

My local game for tonight was just cancelled. Any chance you want to get the show on the road and play tonight? If so, just name the time and I'll make it happen. Later would probably be better, as far as railbirds are concerned. Maybe a 10:00 or 11:00 start time?

Surely you can get $2 into your account by then, one way or another. If not, I'll spot you.

Tonight doesn't seem like a good night. I haven't seen my girlfriend in a few days, and we're going out later on. If we don't, then maybe it'll happen. We both have AIM, so it would be easy to pop on, but to give the railbirds notice might pose a problem.

It's probably better to put it off.

Besides, shouldn't you brush up on your NL heads up play?

Who - wait a minute. Wait just a damn minute!

Am I reading this right? Surely I must be misinterpreting something here. Are you saying... no, you can't be. It's just not possible. I mean, it can't be true. Has the whole world gone topsy turvy?

YOU have a girlfriend???

LOL - grinding away at 1c-2c. I started w/ $2.99, got it up to $4.05. Big pre-flop raise w/ QQ. Call. 593 flop. Big bet, Call. J turn. I go all-in ... putting a good read on the guy w/ overcards. He calls... AQ... catches his ace on the river.

So, I'll need you to transfer me $5.25 prior to our matchup.

This is like Ali/Frazier, McEnroe/Borg, or Phil Hellmuth/Sam Grizzle!! I dont know if I'll be able to pony up the $49.95 for the pay per view though. I'll have to catch it on HBO or ESPNclassic.

What are you talking about? If you transfer me the money, and you win, then you'll win the money back. MINUS a quarter.

Umm... yes, I'll win MY money back, but what about the $5 you were supposed to put up that I should have won? LOL... I think you should go arond Stars challenging people to play for $1000 heads up. Then tell them they need to transfer you the $1000 first, so you can play them. But fear not - if they beat you, they'll get THEIR $1000 back!!! How could anyone ever pass up on a great deal like that???

HELLO???

You're one of a kind, dude.

I can tell math wasn't one of your strong suits.

Ok - say I deposit $50, so I play you in this SnG. Hypothetically, if you win, then you'll win my $5, and that's not part of the deal, Turbo.

TP, you better stop this arguing or your going to be playing for $100 instead of $50 when Lou hits his 1000th post still trying to work out these details.

If this is true... then $5.25 is way more than your bankroll can support.
I wonder if If I were to mouth off to Phil Ivey about how bad I would whoop him in a game "IF" I had the entry, people would start to believe it.

The moderator votes that if there is one more post about this challenge by anyone not fully willing to fund their own entry then all previous postings by said person be checked to see if they are worthy for the 10cents per post eligibility.

Anyone care to second that?

I'm probably in the vast minority here and if you don't agree with me don't bother telling me how stupid I am, we just disagree. This isn't some big corporation giving something away, I think we all understood coming in that it was one guy trying to start up a forum and shelling out cash out of his pocket and maybe, just maybe we should all have a bit of understanding. The other side says "hey he promised me xxx amount of money and now he ows it to me", well I get it, but let's look at the big picture here. Almost all of us came from RGP and this is a giant step up the food chain from that hell hole, YOU WERE POSTING ANYWAY and now are gonna get a few bucks in the deal. If your plan was to post here, take his $25 and turn it into a fortune, well that wasn't gonna happen, face it. This was for fun and money makes it fun.

If this were my decision I would post a set of rules I was comfortable with as far as the heads up matches go and everyone would play by the same set of rules, with the possible exception that the buy-in (that each side put up their own) could be negotiated.

If your on the other side, well your right too, TP did promise the money for the posts and if you followed the rules then yes he owes you, I mean your word is your word, but let just take a step back and look at the big picture and exactly what we are dealing with here, if you came here just to run up a bunch of posts and worry about $25 of $30 or $50, well, hhmmmm......

I am not playing on a gigantic bankroll here either where I can just say $50 is chump change, but if the deal was I had to go back to RGP after getting the money then TP could keep it and I'd stay here.

I don't think you're in the minority at all, Penguinfan. Everything you said makes sense (same goes for ChipFish).

And in case I ever was unclear, I never even once suggested that I wouldn't pay Aeq what I "owe" him. I only said that if he wanted to play me heads up, sure, I'd be all for it, but he can only "double" up to $50, and not $60. That's it. Then it got blown into this huge thing.... Had I realized ahead of time that Aeq's bankroll coun't support a $5.25 buy-in, things would have taken a far different direction.
