Oh, I've been thinking about it myself for about the past week.

But then I got 5th in a 10+1 at Bodog (probably would've had top 3 at least if I hadn't had a brief brainfart period at the FT), and I remembered that I don't have to be Phil Ivey, I just need to be better than the low-limit dorks consistantly enough for variance to even out.

to be honest, i dont think ur being honest with yourself.
you just havent put in the hours, or learned enough about the game.
i know you realize you aren't gods gift to poker or anything, but if your consistanly losing you probably aren't quite as good as you think.

giving one particular hand and saying its a loser over 9k hands, and u might just be too unlucky for poker are both ridiculous.
9k hands is nothing, and if u overvalue AA its pretty easy to be a loser with the hand.

Very good point. Sometimes I think we forget this, I know I do. I seem to fall into this in the blinds. I try to get 'creative', 'tricky', etc. You know how it goes. Flop 2nd pair and lead out, or check raise, whatever. I seem to blow a decent amount that I have grinded out in the past half hour, playing like the donks I curse up and down at.
It reminds me of a great quote I read from J-Dags. Something to the effect of "I didnt get rich by playing against Daniel Negreanu, I got rich by playing against donkeys".
