Dude, haven't you ever seen the interview he did a few years later about that game? He said that some airhorn kept blowing right before his atbats and it used to throw him out of sync. It's, appearently, one thing he can't deal with when he's getting ready to step in against a pitcher.

I was also at one of the NLCS games that year... I think it was Game 1, but I don't remember. What I do remember was Shilling striking out the first 5 batters to start the game. THAT was something.
