The finding a chip in the casino example is even better than mine of finding it on the floor. Technically it belongs to the casino -- so you'd be "stealing" if you didn't pick up the pick and return it to the cashier's cage. I would pick it up and put it in my pocket right away no doubt about it.
NOW, if a stranger was walking in front of me and I saw him drop the chip, that's a different story... however the example of this $500 is exactly the same as the first example above, which is why there is no doubt about I'd keep it and not think for a second otherwise

I thought they started putting microchips or something in the really big denominations for tracking, perhaps only a casino or two experimenting?

Same thing happen to me.
What actually happen was FCP was in the middle of switching networks from ongame to the new dsg network. Before the move, they promised players to give them back money they earned towards an uncleared bonus. Eg. If you clear 60% of a 100 dollar bonus, and never had the chance to complete the remaining 40% of the bonus, then they would give you $60 cash and give back $40 in bonus. Obviously they screwed this up majorly and gave people too much money, but have since adjusted accounts to have it corrected...even though it appears they still screwed up the OP. |
