Default Heads Up - My new thing?

It's funny... I've always considered myself a pretty decent Heads Up player, but I have a TERRIBLE record against the people I've played here. I fired up Poker Stars a little while ago and decided to play in the $100 PL tourney. As you guys know, I'm always multitasking/multitabling... Well, today, I thought I'd try something new.

I decided to play a HU SNG while I was playing the tourney. I've never played one before and didn't know how tough the competition would be, so I didn't know what buy in to start it. I chose $50 to get my feet wet.

I took it down, and faily easily. So I decided to play another. I took that one down to, and even faster than the first. So I played another, and took it down too (this one was much tougher - lasted nearly 30 minutes).

We're approaching the first break in my PL tourney, and I'm 3/3 in these HU matches. I realize my sample size is nothing, but maybe this will be my new thing: While I'm playing in big MTTs, I'll play HU SNGs too.

Or maybe I'm just bored and felt like posting.

Do any of you play a lot of HU SNGs? How successful are you?

i used to play them a lot... but it was when i was a much weaker player. it's not really my "thing" but maybe i should start playing them to improve my HU play...

btw i love how $50 SNGs are "getting your feet wet" lol

I think I will play a few more (maybe 10 total), and see how I'm doing. If things are still going well, I'll move up to the $100 ones.

Back to work!

HU SNG's are great.

I can't multi-task though, I give them my full concentration. I just started them a couple of weeks ago and my record so far is 19-7. I did win 8 of my first 9, giving me a big ego however. My results have since come back to earth.

I figure if you can average 2-1, you're killing them.

I have always done well on these on stars as well, though at the 10 and 20 dollar level. Even though i have won 75% or more of them, for some reason they don't quite do it for me. If i play 2 or 3 in a row and win them i normally put it into a 30 sng or switch to cash games. I might try to play them for a couple hours one night and see what happens. I did watch my roomate win 15 consecutive 10 dollar ones one night. He then started to play the 20 dollar ones and lost it all back.

I used to play these ALL THE TIME - I used to keep track of records and in the $20+2 i had a 22-10 record and I don't consider myself all that good at heads up. They are fairly easy to make money at but they get pretty boring after awhile but if you can multi-task um that's great.

BadBlood - what level are you playing?

I'm now 5-1 lifetime in the $50 ones. I'm really enjoying these, but it's probably because I'm off to a good start.

Some of these guys have been fairly tough (2 were quite tough), but a couple have been complete tools too.

I think I also like that they are quick. I could probably pound out 100 of these in not too much time. I've only been playing one at a time so far, but I think I could handle 2 easily enough.

I'll play you on Bugsy's play money. Loser transfers $25 on Stars to the winner?
