Malkin Goes AWOL
This is for you, penguinfan. Apparently he didn't want to play in Russia for 1 more season and left his team at training camp. I don't know if I've heard of anything like this post-communist Russia. I doubt the reaction from the NHL will be to Malkin's liking.

I did see this the other day, not too suprising since they placed the $25 million ransom on him.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens. Does he show up in the U.S.? Will Russia allow him back into their country if he does? Does the NHL let him play and risk war with the Russian hockey federation?
