Have seen this thread a few times. From the responses then only a few here play at any significant levels.

I think it's full of low limit players, with a small handful of mid to high limit players.

Some of the low limit players aren't that experienced and may not make the best posts. Some of the low limit players are good players and offer good advice.

The couple of higher limit players that I've read posts from on a regular basis give great advice almost all the time.

A lot of the people on here are regulars and you don't have to ask for advice from a "winning player," because you already know who's going to respond. I also think people kind of understand that we're looking for solid advice. Most of the responses are from experience at the table, however limited that may be.

So, don't be a fucking douchebag.

Cool, it's good to see some people making money playing multi-tables online. I have recently started playing low-limit and am going to stay there for a while. Also, regarding my post looking for advice from winning players: I just wanted to avoid some person who didn't know what they were talking about to come give me advice.

At this rate your gonna take Lou's RA title from him, never seen you play and until I do don't want any advice. Someone comming into a public forum saying he is a winning player dosen't mean much, so many factors could of been involved in your win's, If for a fact you are even telling the truth about them. Hey everyone I just won a $100 buy in 3 thousand person tornament and won 10 grand, see how easy that is.

i agree with this, but we're here to talk about the game in all its forms... ive only seen like three posts about micro limits anyways so this looks like a pretty random comment to me

you dont have to play at high stakes to make a good play... you can play 0.25/0.50 or 15/30 and make the same play, if its a good or bad play im going to compliment it or make fun of it regardless of what the stakes are. i consider myself a good limit player, but ive never played above 15/30. there are people out there who make a living off of 15/30 limit, so dont complain that you dont have veterans from 300/600 in here sharing their opinions, chances are you wouldnt be able to appreciate their level of game though anyways.... you'll just have to settle for people like me and TP and lou

I certainy don't play 300/600, but online, I do play higher limits than the average person here (5/10-15/30 limit (mostly 5/10), NL cash games, and MTTs with way higher buy ins than $30 when I'm in the mood). I also play in a couple of pretty big live cash games.

What limits do you play Jackass? And are you only recently a winning player or have you been for a while? How did you do in 2004, for example? Just wondering.

Maybe you could share some of your experiences and contribute some good advice to some of the threads around here, instead of just bashing those who do.

I wasn't always a "winning player" and ya i struggled alot in the last year, alot of which comes down to personal issues ie wife left me, substance abuse and other pychological issues. But the main thing is to win you have to go beyond the "but i had good cards and lost " and realize AA don't mean shit! Too many people have to learn that the cards you plays value is only realative to the cards on the flop(holdem) and moreso the person you are in the pot against if you rely on just playing the cards you will never move up to the next level. Although playing the "top ten hands, and playing like the book told me is a good beginners strategy, if you want to win tourneys and win cash games you have to go beyond that. Read Super System, sure its outdated but there is a big main key AGGRESION PAYS. KNowing what to do in various stages of a tourney comes down to experience. But you can't be afraid to bust , i'd rather bust 15mins in than play 2 hrs and bubble out. You want to put yourself in postion to win the whole thing . This doesn't mean chasing draws but more taking down alot of pots from weaker players uncontested. The tourney i played yesterday in which i placed forth(shit the bed on my part) I showed maybe 4 of the last 20 i played. Be selective in the hands that you play but if you are going to play it, fuckin giver (ultra aggresive) ,if I miss the flop there is a very good chance the other player did too , throw a pot sized or slightly under depending on the player and put him on the spot. I'm not a super star by any means but i have and can win, thats all i got for now flame away.

Ok first of all as much as I personally despise aquitass really what has he done or acomplished(sp) that everyone is eager to take his advice . I have lost a $5 HU match and then played a $100 HU match and won does that mean the $5 guy is a better player??

Probably not "completely through" with the whole substance abuse thingy huh?

By they way, thanks for the expert advice. Your cards value is relative to the flop/board and your opponents.

Wow! I waited 300 posts to hear that "winning advice." Write a book.

Oh and aggressive play pays! Thanks einstein!

Oh and I just read on CNN, Man has landed on the moon! Can't wait for color tv!

I've never heard anyone directly ask aquitass for his advice. He does offer it freely, which is the only way a forum stays busy. You don't have to do everything someone says on this site.

And in regards to your last question, of course, the $5 player could very well be better than you. Then again, maybe he's not. If there's a player on here who thinks they've never lost to anyone worse than them, I've got some land to the south of me to sell 'em.

Stupid question.

Oh and by the way, How many times have you guys seen "winning" players on RGP "begging" for people to transfer money to their account?

Oh, must've been another jackassman right? Loser.

honestly i could give a fuck less what type of a player you are, because you can't seem to project anything useful. shut the fuck up and get the fuck out if you think you're so much better than every player here.

You know, even losing players can offer valuable advice. Reviewing mistakes they made and even offering differing points of view can be insightful to anyone.

Frankly, I was a big loser in 2003 and early 2004. I was able to turn things around and become profitable for both 2004 (roughly $3k) and overall career.

I certainly wouldn't disparage anyone from actively participating, not everything is "advice."

speaking of the tourney... when are we going to have the forum tourney? I think we should have it on pokerstars... it will be the easiest to set up.
