Default notes on players online

i have a tough time sometimes with particular players. The problem is i will have them labeled as a fish and they wind up showing me nuts a lot. I guess my ? is how do you make the distinction between a loose/agressive player and a complete fish. Its mainly one person and a few other small ones. But the one guy i believe im a better player than he is but i believe he is up on me heads up money wise. where is the line drawn?

I used to maintain all my own player notes. Now I let Poker Tracker do it for me, exporting my opponents stats (fully customizeable). I have no affiliation with them, but believe me, if you are a serious online player, this is the best $55 you will ever spend.

About player notes: I have a lot on Stars ... especially the regulars at the NL tables.

I have used PokerTracker for a few days but I never really got into it. It's that good, huh? MAYBE I'll try it again.

i think this is obviously one of the hardest parts of online play. with limited info, it is hard to distinguish which players are strong, agressive players, and which ones are complete fish.

definitely invest in a program like pokertracker or pokeroffice, and study your stats.

in regard to specific players, i would assume that if someone keeps showing you the nuts, then your notes on that player would change accordingly. trying to piece together their thought process afterwards is probably a pretty try to piece together their thought process after the fact, when you have al of the information about the hand.

and of course, be critical of your own play as well. do you tend to play too many hands with this player, because you labelled him as a fish?

Default poker tracker software

Can you get good poker tracker software for use on all major sites, i.e. Pacific Poker?

View their site for all the details, but I know it works for most of the major sites... not sure about Pacific though.

As for you bigjohnstud2o, sounds to me lik it might be time for you to open a checking account or get a credit card. I'm not sure how anyone can get through life without those in this day and age, online poker player or not. What, do you just have wads of cash stuffed under your mattress or something?

If Im not sure about a player, I generally just write down the hand exactly in my notes...position, what he bet, what he showed down etc. Then after a few of those I can usually deduce a pattern from that.

Default One fish in a sea of 50,000

One trouble I find with compiling player notes is that playing on Party, there are just SO many players. While there might be four or five players I have notes on signed on at the same time as I am, they are of course at different tables. Does having notes on one player at the table give me that much of an edge?

Default i would most certainly think so

if you know a player and how he plays that gives you a huge edge. If its only 1 or the whole table.

Default lets try this

does anyone on here not keep notes on players? I put notes on as many as i can if i play with them for an hour or 2 usually. Some you can figure out right then. Some take longer. I just know i would much rather no a little something about one player than nothing about any of them. Any one here play on true poker by the way. I believe their notes are the best on the web. All you have to do is put your mouse over their avatar and it shows notes. No right clocking then clicking on notes then going back to chat. Just some mouse movements.

Default Doubt it

I doubt it. If we are here using the forums, that means we are trying to better our play. If we are trying to better our play, we definitely have to make notes on players. We don't want to make the same mistakes over and over again.
