Default another rule questoin

ok here is another question that came up.

let me set it up 1st one dude bet and another one folded and the other guy thought the hand was all over and showed a K in his hand on a Q high board. The dealer pointed out that there was still someone else in hand and he quickly retieved his hand and flipped back over the K.

then the player with the K bet $100 into the pot and the other player said I got you, I got Q3 and you cant beat 2 pair with a K in hand. Now the player with the K wasnt all in he still had a couple hundred back. The player that said they had Q3 pushed all in, I thought you couldnt say your hand unless the other player was all in?

the dude with the K folded and other player showed 8-t with the flush draw, can you say your cards even if you are lying?

Tourney and cash game rules are different, as are house rules from place to place. Typically though, it's ok to lie about your hand. It's only a problem if you tell someone the truth about your hand. Go figure.

In a situation like this though - down to Heads Up in a cash game hand, it was perfectly fine for this guy to say what he said, which is exactly what I would have done, btw. I wouldn't have stated my hand, but I would have said, "Well, I know you can't be at two pair" and pushed in on him.

The guy who bet with the King, btw... that was a HORRIBLE bet unless he though his opponent was incompetent. Anyone with half a brain would know to raise him there.

Default actully

actully the bet was made before he flashed his K, sorry. he bet $100 then dude folded and he thought the hand was over and flipped the K and got ready to muck then the dealer pointed out a person was still in pot.

but yea the dudes play after he saw the K was very smart on his part, the floor person came over and said him saying the cards was ok as long as it was heads up.

Correct ruling.

And huge difference in the story based on when the guy bet the $100 in relation to when he showed the King, you know.
