Default Stars 1,000,000,000th hand...

So, I hapened to log on to Stars a little while ago, only to see they were past 999,850,000 hands. Figured this was as good a time as any to play, so I sat down at four $2/$4 NL tables.

I didn't get dealt in to the winning hand, but I did win about $650 in the process

One of my tables was just 56 hands early of the big one... and I had won the previous hand. Guess I should have waited just a hair longer before making that last bet, huh? Oh well...

BTW, the winner was playing at a .05/.10 table. Right now, he's sitting at a .02/.04 table. It's hilarious. The stacks at his table are:
.15
.29
.57
.53
.08
.24
........ and $55,010.

LOL. There are also about 100 railbirds begging him for money. A small price to pay for 50 Gs...

Cool promo. Kudos to Stars.

Default That's so cool

Talk about a happy holiday. What are the logistics of that? Do you withdraw it 9k a time over a period of months to avoid the tax man?

Congrats on the 650 as well TP. That's very impressive for 2/4, even four tabeling. How long did that take?

Apparently there was a big argument too. 1 guy was sitting out and PS didnt notice it and gave him the $5000.. then about 100 guys started to yell and scream *like it's their money* and PS, by law, had to take it away.

Ouch..

$2/$4 (blinds) *NL*... Didn't take long at all. This hand certainly helped:

Default The sickest HH I've seen in my entire life...

I doubt I'll even be able to cut and paste this all into here, but it's pretty historic, so I'll try:

PokerStars Game #1000000000: Hold'em No Limit ($0.05/$0.10) - 2004/12/25 - 20:52:30 (ET)
Table 'Walhalla' Seat #9 is the button
Seat 1: Bluewave ($4.10 in chips)
Seat 2: mvdgolf416 ($6.65 in chips)
Seat 3: phil steve ($3.60 in chips)
Seat 4: mrhappy530 ($3.70 in chips)
Seat 5: thechipster ($3.40 in chips)
Seat 7: S.N. Bigfoot ($5.30 in chips)
Seat 8: r3vbr ($3.25 in chips)
Seat 9: Paparow ($7.05 in chips)
Bluewave: posts small blind $0.05
mvdgolf416: posts big blind $0.10
*** HOLE CARDS ***

Ok, turns out the HH is way too big to paste here.... literally thousands and thousands of lines of observer chat (request it and see for yourself)... so let's just get to the summary:

*** RIVER *** [5h 2d Qd Ac] [7c]
...
*** SUMMARY ***

Seat 2: mvdgolf416 (big blind) showed [3h 3s] and won ($8.95) with a pair of Threes
Seat 3: phil steve folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 4: mrhappy530 showed [2h Kh] and lost with a pair of Deuces

I can't believe that stars has already played 1,000,000,000 hands. I'm not up on my online poker history, but how many hands has party poker played? I'm guessing they have already broken this number?

And Its funny that it happened on such a low limit table... But kudos to him and congratulations.

the guy who won this plays .5/1 NL on PS. Maybe he's playing 1/2 now, I dunno. But he's probably one of the more successful .5/1 players on PS... Even before winning this (

He's also from brazil. So american dollars there are worth a lot... At least I believe he said this on 2+2 or something. this 50k is probably more like 100k to him.

man, i could care less about the exchange rate. 50k is 50k, and that is a hell of a lot of money for anyone to take down at once online.

for me to put that in perspective, that would easily pay off my college loans, my credit card debt, but me a reasonable car (to replace the clunker that I have now i'm not looking for anythig too nice), and still have a bit to blow on a solid gambling weekend in vegas with hookers included.

Lol yeah I know what you mean. A lot is a lot . I think it's funny that he was playing on this 'baby' limit, when he's usually playing 1/2 NL and .5/1 NL.

I think I need a change in strategy for some of these online promos. You actually need to play the lottery to win right, lol?!!

Must Say.

This was a good idea by pokerstars and the tables were full. I was playing the max allowed 5, with no luck in hitting one of those elusive hands.

I really do think that a huge freeroll tourny would of been more suitable though with the biggest online cash prize, but then I suppose pokerstars would of lost all the rake revenue from all those players at the time.

Still it was a promotion they didnt have to do, so it was nice to see a site giving its members something back....I would suggest though that they stole the idea from TP....

Jim.
