Default Im finding limit alot easier to win at

i just started playing limit HE today and its been a steady winning streak, at first i didnt like it cuz it was hard to protect a hand against a draw or a weaker hand but you cant lose alot in any one hand unless every street is capped or you play really high limits, but i was suprised to find out that i actually liked playing limit, but i still wont ever play a limit tourney or sit and go because they take to long. what do you think is easier limit or NL, and what im seeing is i think that by far limit is easier.

You've played one day and you think you can tell me limit is easier? I dunno, maybe it is, just seems like you should play a little longer. After all, I think you have played enough to know what goes up must go down (at least a little bit) in poker.

I like NL better, it requires more attention to detail and not so much mathematical decision making. Easier? I dont know, nothing in poker seems easy to me.

i agree with fungus here... i dont see any version of HE as being easier than the other... they both have their strong points.. but i view them as equally difficult.

I think limit is easier. It's much more mechanical, and you can get away with paying less attention and still being a winning player. I can eaily play 2-3 limit games at a time, while doing other things, and pump out a decent BB/hr rate. If I try that in NL, I may still come out ahead, but it's a lot riskier. Misplaying one hand in NL can cost you your stack. In limit, you are talking about a bet or two.

I know i have only played one day but im saying so far i think its easier, i agree with what TP said because it doesnt require as much focus, where as in NL making one wrong move can cost you your stack just like TP said

My prediction? You start finding it a lot harder pretty soon, and you lose money. Honestly, do you really think it's easier because you've hit a hot streak for 1 day?

BTW, what limit are you playing and with what bankroll?

I just find it extremely difficult to post serious replies to this twat. I'm not sure how you guys do it.

He's playing on a .05/.10 roll at who knows what stakes (I'd be surprised if they were under .50/1.00 though). He's broke by the end of the week.

You guys are misleading this KID by saying it's easier. You say "easier" and he translates it to "easy."

It's like comparing a law school exam and a med school exam. One may be easier than the other but neither shoudl be construed as easy.

you know this thread reminds me of something, oh yea my threads like 6 months ago. You are playing with a bankroll about 1/2 what you should be playing with. Recomended bankroll for the level you are at is $300, what is happening is you are going through a up streak where your hands are holding up. Wait until they start getting beat, at least give yourself more then a week at this level before you say limit is alot easier.

I know pshabi dosent want to answer this thread but it seems like he has had alot of sucess in limit and he will tell you that you will get sucked out on plenty in limit. I have read threads from him explaining some of the gross hands he has lost to when flopping a monster and im guessing this will happen to you given the time. I know you have no choice but to play at party poker but you have a bad day at this level and it is very easy to blow through youre $180 bankroll.

Default Figures vs. feel

It’s hard to argue that limit is as challenging as NL. I’m actually surprised that Laak was able to beat the bot, as winning is limit is really about understanding/mastering starting hand requirements, position and pot odds. There are plenty of situations in limit where the cards might as well be face-up. If I’m chasing a flush, and have nine outs with one card left, how big does the pot have to be for me to call, even if I’m behind after the turn? (Anybody care to answer this one?)

At 4/8 or less, bluffing in limit is usually a mistake, beyond a continuation bet. Tells don’t matter all that much, because I’m playing the cards, not the man.

NL – especially live, especially cash games – is a more advanced game that rewards guts as much as it does caution, and in which being able to disguise your hand/emotions – and read those of others – is a crucial skill.

i understand this, and thats why if i did take a huge blow to my stack i would drop down to the lowest NL tables they have, although they take alot of patience to play lol. i do believe that limit is easier, you do not have to worry about alot of bluffing going on and you dont have to read players, like 2tone said in limit its about playing the cards, and not so much the man.

its also very easy to lose alot in limit as well take this for instance. Your holding AA and you cap pre-flop -$2.

flop comes out A-3-7 with two hearts so the flop is capped -$2

turn is a blank not pairing the board so you cap again ( the right play) -$4

river is a heart and you call because you have good pot odds -$1

total loss -$9

Thats why its soo important to play in your bankroll, you just lost almost 1/18th of your bankroll. You have a day of being outdrawn you could lose the rest real easy. But playing within your bankroll you should (if you are decent player) be able to get it back for when they miss. In limit you are NOT gonna be able to get anyone off their draws. At least at the limit you play they will not lay down any kind of draw at least in NL you can get them off them sometimes.

Exactly. Great point. Limit is easier because you flop quad Kings a lot more.

P.S. I know that wasn't the point of the post but I'm sure you're finding it easier because of hands like this.

P.P.S. Your bankroll is too low for that limit. Why don't you find somebody else on recpoker that will fall for a scam so you can boost that bankroll?
