Default Just like George and Weezie

I'm moving on up!

After a lot of stalling and waiting and, admittedly, nervousness I'm jumping to 3/6 from 2/4.

I felt the same way when I went from 1/2 to 2/4. Kind of uncertain and nervous. But I've got to be ready.

The only thing I'm worried about is losing too much too quick. If I don't hit a terrible streak, I'll be fine; however, I'd hate to lose the $3500 I've built so far really quickly.

I'm confident but I think I'm going to play with $500 and if I go down $500 I'll move back to 2/4. Dont' expect that to happen, but stranger things have.

Okay, I'm off. Probably play a 2/4 and a 3/6 simulataneously before I go multi on the 3/6. Anyway, wish me luck and I'll post my results here.

Peace,

Phil

Default Good Luck

3/6 and 2/4 are about the same. I do not think you will have a problem with that transition. Take it slow for a few days and get used to the pot sized, etc.. and you will be fine.

You've made $3500 playing $2/4 and now you're going $3/6? You should have been in that game long ago. Good luck with the transition!

Default Round 1 goes to the fish

Round 1 was 2/ 1/2 hours in the fish tank at Party. Got every pair from JJ and up busted once. Lost $100.

The thing that made it unbearable was the fact that I was multitabling w/ a 2/4 and lost $185 on the 2/4 in the same amount of time!

Worst run of cards ever. Suckouts left and right. That was exactly what I didn't need to happen my first time in 3/6.

Lost some sleep last night, because I've never come close to losing $300 in a day before. However, I'm back on my horse, playing to even in an hour so far this morning. Moved to Pac and there are 7 people to the flop each time.

My stomach hurts a little and I'm a little shook, but nonetheless, that's the game I play. Thanks for the support.

Default still losing

Lost $85 in about 2 hours. Was up a while but just too many hands that became marginal after weird flops. Cost me some money.

Offset it with a couple 2/4 tables and actually made money during the session but 3/6 is dropping me on my head.

Still gonna stick with it though.

Default Slow up

I would really suggest you just play a single table of 3/6 for a session or two. The biggest adjustment between 2/4 and 3/6 is getting used to the amount of money. You will do fine. Just play a single table so you can concentrate and do your best, get used to stuff, and then start multi-tabling. It will also make it easier to accept a loss. $150 down on 1 table is alot less sting than $300 on two or more.. Sounds like you just got a few bad hands. Keep at it.

Still not doing really well, but I'm up today. I just thought of why I'm playing bad though. Haven't had any pot since the move up! My man just called me so I'll be hazy before the next session.

Really, though the only thing I was worried about was getting a bad run of cards when I started. If I would've caught some cards and then lost, it wouldn't be so hard to take.

To put it in terms that you may better understand. 4 hours of play at 3/6, 22 pocket pairs, one set, lost to a straight.

And the four times I held Cowboys there was an Ace on the flop.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Tonight, I'll probably win $300 because the cards will catch up to my DESIRE TO WIN!!!

I'm on my way to 1/2, from the micro-micro limits. I feel your pain and anxiety, but as you say, this is the game we play. GL.

I, too, am moving up, but just from .25/.50 to .50/1 . Good success so far. I have made a huge leap in my playing after continually getting busted out. I just made a conscious effort to tighten up pre-flop.
