Default hey yooooooouuuu guuuuys.

So I'm back, for alittle while atleast, did ya miss me? lol

So i decided to send PokerStars a email just to ask where they stood on the ghosting subject ( refer to this thread to catch up ), and before anyone flames me for snitching or anything like that I didn't mention any names or any forum names, my email i sent was this :

Hi,

I'm sending you this email to clarify where PokerStars stand on the subjectof ghosting. I recently got involved in a debate on a forum where someonewas asking to be ghosted during one of you battle of the planets games.

I replied that I think being ghosted is unfair on the other players and that I think it is cheating. whilst some on the forum supported my view most did not and infact basically dissmissed it and said it isn't against the rules and therefore not cheating. I have since left that forum but wish to hear what are the rules/views of PokerStars on this topic.

Many Thanks

Thadeas

so within a very quick amount of time I got this response :

Hello Thadeas,

Thank you for your email. PokerStars requires that each account is played by only one player, and eachplayer may only play on one account.

Of course, there is no way to control where that player might get advicefrom - if they have a book in front of them that details how to play a handin a particular way, we do not prohibit that.

Similarly, if they have someone by their side (or on the phone or whatever)giving them advice, this is not possible to prohibit using any commerciallyavailable technology today, nor against our rules. As a general principle,PokerStars tries to avoid implementing rules that are impossible to enforce.

Clearly, it would be unreasonable and inappropriate for PokerStars to evenconsider accessing a user's webcam to figure out who else is in the room - so we don't.

Thus, while we would prefer if 'ghosting' didn't happen, since there isliterally no way of enforcing such a rule, we do not have such a prohibition.

By the way, providing such advice if you were dealt into the same hand isobviously against the rules, but I understand that you weren't asking about this.

I trust that this has been helpful to you, but please feel free to contactus again anytime if we can help you further.

Now this response sort of vindicates me as much as to say that if there was a way to check/enforce such a rule they would do it, but since they can't it is not against the rules even though they may like it to be.

Most of you will read this and dissagree with me but meh.

the other interesting part is what i've put in bold, maybe i read it wrong but are they saying that even sharing HH's and asking how someone else would play a hand different is against the rules, or are they implying that if on the phone/Instant messenger with someone asking to play a hand is against the rules?

I relise i'm gonna get flammed for comming back and bringing this up but again meh, I don't believe I owe anyone a appology, I am simply sticking to my beliefs which we are all entitled to.

Thadeas.
