Default Biggest winning and losing hands for the month...

So, I just thought of an interesting idea for a thread that I think could be beneficial for everyone.

At the end of a lot of my sessions, I review my biggest winning and losing hands in Poker Tracker and analyze my play (I love the "Playback This Hand" thing). Well, I say that I do this, but I will admit that I don't do it as much as I should. I think this is a GREAT practice though, and I highly encourage you guys to start doing it if you aren't doing it already. As you are looking at these big hands, it will help you evaluate your play, regardless of whether or not you logged a winning or losing session. Were you simply lucky or unlucky, or were you playing well or playing badly? I think doing this daily is the best idea, but for the sake of this thread, let's look at the entire month of October.

What I am suggesting is this:

1. Open PT and filter your stats to show everything for this month (Filters Tab)
2. Go to the Game Notes tab, click "Get All" and then sort by "BB" - I think this is better than "Net" for those of you who are playing many different levels. This will sort your biggest winning hands to the top of the list. Click it again and it will reverse it and move your biggest losers to the top.
3. Click on the Game Number for your biggest winner and your biggest loser, copy and paste the HHs, and post them here.

With each HH (post them separately), do your best to self analyze it. If you won a monster pot by playing like a donkey and sucking out, say so. If you got all in with the nuts and lost, that's ok, but say so. And ideally, go through the HH and analyze every street (where applicable) and see if you could have played the hand better.

I haven't looked at my biggest hands for the month yet, so don't think I'm doing this in hopes of making some sort of brag post or something, because that's not the case at all. In fact, thinking back over the course of the entire month, there were definitely some hands I played pretty badly, so I'm expecting to see one of those as my biggest loser.

Anyway, if a bunch of us do this, I think it will be a good learning tool for both the posters (self analyzers) and everyone else who is reading along. And if people comment on other people's hands, that's even better.

Good idea? Let's do it!

OK, here is my biggest winner for the month.

I mostly like how I played this hand, but in hindsight, I won this monster pot because of the combination of how I played preflop and the flop and the PERFECT card hitting the turn.

Ironically, JJ was a huge loser for me for the first week of this month, but ended up being my third biggest winner, behind only KK and AA, mostly thanks to this hand, I suspect.

This is a great spot for a squeeze with the action in front of me. I'd say I reraise here at least 90% of the time. I don't remember why I choose to just call, but I think I was hoping to play it a little bit deceptively (more like I would play a small pair)... and I just so happened to fall into the dream scenario. Then again, maybe I was gun shy because of how crappy JJ had been treating me. I honestly don't remember.
unbeatable_T calls $21

Had I reraised preflop, I would have fired here, but since I didn't, I decided to go for the check raise.

OK, I've got the second nuts here, so obviously I'm willing to go all the way. It's time to start building this pot. I should get calls here from heart draws (drawing dead), straight draws (drawing dead) and anyone holding a 4 (drawing to 1 out) or the case J (drawing dead). This is a good spot.
unbeatable_T folds
samd20 raises to $204
Hello.
joc folds
Troll Pie raises to $623
If I had position, I may have just called here and let him lead out at the river, but because I'm first to act, I prefer to reraise right here. Hopefully he's got a big hand and will come back over the top of me. In hindsight, I think my raise here was a little bit too much, but then again, it looks like I want him to fold.
samd20 raises to $1,496.55, and is all in

Troll Pie shows a full house, Jacks full of Fours
Troll Pie wins the pot ($2,469) with a full house, Jacks full of Fours
samd20 adds $285.45
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $2,472 | Rake $3
Board: [4h Jh Td 4s 3d]
Seat 1: joc (small blind) folded on the Turn
Seat 2: Troll Pie (big blind) showed [Jc Js] and won ($2,469) with a full house, Jacks full of Fours

Seat 4: unbeatable_T folded on the Turn

I think I played the hand ok, but honestly, I don't think this is the best way to play JJ in the long run. It worked out perfectly here, but that was lucky more than anything else. Like I said, it was because of the combination of my passive preflop and flop play, plus the perfect turn card for my opponent.

Thoughts on my play are welcome, as always.

OK, time to find my biggest loser. Let's see how big of a donkey I was.

OK, there's not much to say about this hand. I think it just kinda plays itself out - "that's poker."

I've only had PT for 6 days but from that, heres my biggest winner... ironically its against possibly the best other 3/6 player, and therefore I played it alot diff. than usual.

Biggest loser Too bad I didnt have PT when I was playing 100/200 Limit, lost a few 5k pots there.. I remember this hand perfectly, I wanted to fold the turn so bad, and I actually planned on it, but that small as turn bet totally sucked me in. This player knew I could make big laydowns and that little turn bet worked perfect vs. me.

I don't currently have PokerTracker as I'm away from my usual computer, but I believe the biggest winning hand (and probably the showcase of why Bodog is such easy money) from October.

What is with all the JJ? It's no wonder people generally consider that one of the hardest hands to play.

I like how you played your winning hand, JD. I may have played it differently and bet the turn, but other than that, I like it preflop and on the flop. And the river is an obvious all in.

Holy shit.

Were you at all worried he had a monster, or is this type of crap standard in that game? Do you play to the felt regularly with TPTK, even in the face of major aggression?

He was like 70/40 (VPIP/preflop raise), and would bet really small if he had a big hand and overbet when he was weak. He's probably the worst 5/10 NL player I have ever played against.

I think this was my last hand at .50/1 NL. It couldn't keep my attention and droppin 100 or the 69 I lost here didn't really bother me so I moved up for good instead of splitting time. Was a very good decision.

Your Net vs. BB hands are so different because there is a huge difference between playing .50/$1 and 1/2. I thought about going with "Net" hands (for me, they are the same), but realize this was a better way to go because of the people who play all month at level X but play a few dozen hands at much higher limits. Those hands could easily be your biggest Net winners and losers, but they aren't really the biggest hands. BB is the way to go.

As for this specific HH, I think you are being too hard on yourself. I actually don't think you played it badly at all - not perfectly, sure, but I think you played it well overall.

This is a spot I really struggle with. With a board THIS draw heavy, I have a hell of a time laying down an overpair. Many (most) opponents will play hands like any pair+straight draw, Ac6c, 77-TT, and so on exactly like this.

I think it's +EV to fold to his flop raise, as you said, but I'm simply not sure yet. This is very opponent dependent, IMO.

Would like to read others opinions of this situation, for sure.

firstly, the board is incredibly set-licious; 44, 55 and 66 are all very, very possible.

We only really crush TT and 99, and are ahead against 88.

33, 77, flush draws (plus over) and pair/straight draws (eg 67) will all be coinflip-ish.

i didn't really think of the straight at the time, but it's another possibility. As is the monster draw of 67cc.

my thinking at the time was "oh f--- off, show me siebens" (that's german yo).

villain has $550 after raising us (we have no folding equity), so we basically have to invest another $850 to win roughly $1500 (not sure - $250 from preflop, plus our $200 on the flop, plus villain's $1050).

i really think we'll be up against a set an awful lot of the time here, i think it's a fold.

edit: slowplayed AA/KK/QQ also possible, albeit unlikely

I just got around to doing this,

12,334 hands

I am shocked to find the biggest winner was: JJ

Honestly, no suprise to me the biggest loser AA

I am sure that is because I got stacked twice getting all-in preflop with AA vs KK and getting 2-outed.
