Default improving my limit play

Ok well Ive got pokertracker and my VP$IP is around 25%, but my showdown win % is only about 53%, I am making money but not at the rate I would like, it seems as if I lose more money when I play AK, AQ than I win, any tips? stop calling 1 bet with overs?

I think the flops seen are just a LITTLE high but not too bad. The main thing you need to improve on it seems is post-flop decision making. If you only win 53% of your showdowns, and youre playing sufficiently tight preflop, then you are missing a few pretty big warning signals in post-flop play to muck your hands.

One thing that seems to stand out here is you losing more money than you make with AK, AQ. This tells me you probably fall in love with them and cant get away from them if the flop misses you? Remember, big aces are drawing hands.

While I don't play limit, I think your VPIP is a bit loose. But it's possible your sample size is too small and you're just getting a lot of good pf hands...

Cheers,

What is VPIP???

As to weather to hold on to second pair with like AJ/AQ, depends on how many opponets and how much raise/reraise. If it's just against one player or it's only one bet, it's okay to call for one in my opinion, depends on your limit - cause calling a 1 dollar is a lot different from calling 10 on the river

Default The value of stats

This is exactly what PokerTracker is for. I think the 25% is a little high, but not out of the ballpark. Much more alarming is winning only half of your showdowns. Sounds like you might want to consider surrendering that extra bet now and again in favor of pushing even harder when you know you have the nuts. Or so says Captain Obvious.

gotta play your position to and keep a look out for limpers that are just limping in to see cheap flop alot of times you can overbet them and they will fold. It also depends what limit your playing in the low limits they will run anything so all you have to do is go in with premiem and you will roll all over them.

Back to my question, what is VPIP?? I find myself seeing a lot more than 20% of flops since people usually end up limping in the blinds, most of the time I call in the sb with anything half decent, that's already at least 20% lol

Mid-20's is probably ok for low-stakes. You also need to think about your PFR and other aggression stats.

I actually like opponents with a low VP$IP, when combined with certain other stats such as a low PFR.

Default As always, it depends

Has there been a raise in front on me? If I can limp in with anything higher than pocket fives or 5/6 suited, I'll do so. If I have to call a raise to do so, I'm more conservative. And of course with AA, KK, or AK I'll three bet if I have the chance.

VPIP is 'voluntarily put money into pot' so it's like your flop percentage but without BB, unless you called a raise.

Cheers,

Gutzz
