Default Casino chip question

Maybe this belongs in the off topicl discussion area and if so please move it, but I was wondering is there no way whatsoever to wash casino quality clay chips or do the casino's just not give a damn how discusting their chips are? Last time I was at the Trop in AC the chips were filthy, worse than I remember from other trips out there.
Can they not be cleaned for some reason? Pretty soon I am gonna start wearing latex gloves before picking them up.

yeah i usually find that chips in casinos are NEVER washed unless theyre really, really big casinos. I once got a $1 chip that was literally crusted over with dirt and grease at a cheap indian casino in CA... i passed on the fuckin comps that time

Default Nicer rooms

The Mandalay Bay had great chips, and they were spotless. Even at the Excalibur and Luxor they seemed alright. At my local Seattle joint, they are nothing special, but at least they aren't nasty.

Side issue -- most of the Vegas rooms are now non-smoking, which I LOVE. Not so of the local card rooms. I come from my local place, and immediately have put everything I had on in the wash.

Maybe it's just an Atlantic city thing, but they should toss most of the chips in the Atlantic for a while.
