Default Party Shootouts

For those that are into Shootouts, Party just introduced these. Looks like most of them are 3 or 4 rounds. Unlike the Poker Stars ones, the top 3 from each round get paid and move on to the next level. Your chip totals from each round accumulate and they add a nominal amount to each player in the next round. The amount they add to the stack depends on which round.

Looks like they already had a beta test with 529 players at a 5+1. (Which keeps me wondering why people continue to pay the 20% rake at party?)

these look fun, looking forward to hear from someone that has played them. I did the calculater for them and the payouts seem to cover your buy in if you make top 3 in 1st round and the rest is a freeroll after that.

So, the tables play down to 3 before the next round.

So, you could conceivably be waiting a while if your table shrinks to 3 first and some other dimdumbs are still playing huh?

Sounds insteresting enough, but i'd love to hear an analysis of the EV.

This does sound interesting... You gotta give props to PArty's marketing department for all these promos they come up with: BBJ, HHJ, The Steps, Points, Porsche Giveaway, This... The list goes on.

These might be pretty good while they are new...
Key will be to get a lead and hold it, as your chips carry over to the next round...
No sense trying to knock out the 4rth guy if you have the chiplead.

Default questions

I didnt see the answer on website so I will ask here.

Does play stop when you get down to 3? You say you carry your chips to next round so im guessing yes. If play stops at top 3 at table how do they decide who got 1st,2nd or 3rd for prize money for that round?

When it stops, I imagine chipleader gets first.
Guy in second gets second
and the guy in last (3rd) gets 3rd....

Just guessing, but that's what I got out of it.

Brian, answer is above, but:

chip leader would be first for the table down to third. Yes, you stop at 3 and wait for the other tables to finish.

$5 + 1 = 20% rake = total ripoff.

make it to final round garanteed $20 good profit

Let me make some points why I like these things, follow along.

how many times in a MTT have you played one table for about 30 minutes worked up a good table image and about to make some moves and guess what shift time crap a whole new table. Or how many times have you just run a table and guess what move time again. Dont you just hate that? Another thing I like is the fact you just have to get 3rd to pay for your torney and the rest is just free money. I might actully put money online sometime the next month or so to just play these they seem fun. Not alot of money though have to stick to origional plan.

Aside from the whole rake thing....this doesn't really seem like a great value. Basically to make the good money, you need to finish in the money in the final round. Which basically means you're were top 3 for 4 rounds in a row. If you're able to consistently place that high, you might as well go to the steps instead. It just seems like it takes way too much time and your chances of winning something decent is harder than a regular MTT.

I disagree you can make about a $30-$40 profit just finishing 3rd in each round but the last one. I personally dont think these are harder then regualr MTT's, also in the step tornies you have to finish higher then 3rd to progress some steps. I know in the mini steps you have to finish 1st at one point.

im watching one now here are the payouts,

round 1
1st 11.23
2nd 7.48
3rd 6.23

round 2
1st 18.30
2nd 12.93
3rd 10.16

round 3
1st 36.07
2nd 24.04
3rd 20.03

round 4
1st 187.32
2nd 112.38
3rd 74.92
