Default Where are the most fishies on PS?

I find that in ring games, .25/.50 or .50/1 blinds are the way to go to make some easy (kinda worthwhile) money. What is your usual game?

About 7-8 months ago I moved from the 1/2 NL Tables to the 2/4 tables... and something VERY strange began happening. I was CRUSHING the tables...I dabbed into some 3/6 as well with similiar results. I was pulling 300-900 a night 3 nights and having 1 losing session on the fourth night 500-600 or so. I was on fire for 6-8 weeks or so, probably made close to 10k. I cooled off and took a terrible run (and when playing NL you'll have these swings). I backed down to the 1/2 Tables and began playing more tournaments... which is now where I am usually at (simply because my live game has increased and a lot of my "roll" isn't online anymore) The players at 2/4 and up are much better than 1/2 and down... but that in turn cuts down on the beats, and allows you to play more aggressively and make more moves, as players show more respect on these tables (which I think was the reason for my huge rush)

In my live game I play mostly 1/2 NL but it plays like a much higher blind structure. The average pre flop raise is 12-20, the max buy in 300.

I also occassionally play in 2/5 and 5/5 games.

I mainly just play tourneys at Stars, but there are a ton of fish at the $100 and $50 NL tables at Titan, bet356 and Bodog.

25+2 turbo SNG's on Stars. Closest thing to printing your own money.

I also mix in MTTs alot, mainly playing the 180's on stars.

As of late I've all but given up cash games, But I used to play anywhere up to 400PLO8, 5/10 O8, and 5/10 LHE. I think I will have to learn shorthanded, perhaps getting someone here to coach me, because I find cash games boooooring. There is nothing fun about folding for half an hour and having your first playable hand cracked by 92o. Either that, or watching people drag 15BB pots around EVERY hand, then watching your raise with aces take down the blinds. I think I've proven myself to be a better tournament player anyways, and part of me just likes that there is an ultimate goal in tournaments.

I guess for me, poker needs a purpose.

Hey Mayhem, why don't you try playing a LAG style a few times in cash games? Maybe drop down a level if you are unconfortable, and give it a shot. Running over a table is fun, and sometimes you just catch on fire. I find it helps your game anyway, so you can change gears more effectively.

As for the original question, I seriously think there are more fish at .50/1 and 1/2 then there are at the lower limits. I would play there if I had the roll for it, but really I am only rolled for .25/50 and below. I checked my PT stats a minute ago and I see I am actually a losing player at .05/.10 lol I don't know I managed that. I have found .10/.25 easier then .25/.50, but I just may have been running bad in .25/.50 because the players don't seem that good. To me, it seems like the higher the level, the worse the players (up until a certain point obviously), but my sample size may not be good enough. That is over 15,000 hands spread across those levels.

Honestly, I smile when I read posts like this one, do you really belive for one minute that someone will post true responses to your question?

If I could log on and go to a persific place knowing that I win all the time would I tell anyone, I doubt it.

IMHO winning money playing poker constantly takes more than sitting with a bunch of fishes, were and what are we coming too. Yea you may get the odd tbl or few players that are so poor that you can take them for a few $, but this is not a way I would like to spend my time playing poker I DONT KNOW.

Right some advice, for what its worth! On PS play in the SNGs anything above $25 and play your game,,,You know the one talked about around here, the one we know you are capable of playing.

Forget about making easy money and play to your own capabilities, the money will come and alot easier than chasing idiots aroung an online poker site.

Well there are two different reasons why I play. Sometimes I play cash tables to pad my bankroll, strictly to pad my backroll. But if I am looking to learn more about the game, I play said SNGs.
As to the top of your post, we are a community around here and I was hoping for honesty, which I think most people here are genuine enough to answer truthfully.

Jimmy, I think what your trying to say is you play poker for the challenge of it, not to make money.

Am I alone in thinking this is the dumbest advice to give? If I want a challenge, I'll wait till I'm in the final few hundred at the WSOP next year , or hell, even playing against members of this forum in the league. A challenge is all well and good, but to be a winning player and get bankrolled for the bigger games where you can actually call it a challenge, you have to play with players who are WORSE than you, its as simple as that.

I've been on my most insane run over this past 4 days and just killing the $1/2 NL 6 max tables and I think theres alot of idiots there... seems like alot of ppl there are way over their head.
Once i got my onlike roll to 4k i moved up to $2/4 tho to see what i could do with 1 buyin and i dropped one $400 buy in and then moved right back down. Maybe i was at a tough table but the $2/4 seemed like a whole different game than the $1/2.

Knowing a few of the people that play 2/4 on stars I would say that it is a huge jump. I have a friend that played 1/2 nl till he had a 30k roll. I understand that most people will move up way before then, but to me it shows the type of players at 2/4 and even 3/6. He is still playing 2/4 and 3/6 and has a roll that exceeds 150k. So it is a very profitable level, however there is a lot more sharks that can put a serious hurt on you.

I am one that really likes to play in tours on Poker Stars, I have done ok on reg. cash games but seems like I do much better playing in small or large tours then I do just sitting down and playing cash games.

Well ok what Ive said has annoyed some of you,,, Well to be honest thats what forums are about. different opinions.
Now in my own opinion, you will not make poker much money by following the fishes around any site.
And in my opinion anyone who is making money regulary wont tell you were to go, Why?

I now as Mayhem said love playing poker for the challenge, mostly tournys and boy do I enjoy my game, I lose what I can afford, I play low entry tournys and try different plays, I play the game needed at the time and I learn all the time. But most important to me is I now actually make money, not a huge amount but enough atleast to afford a very good holiday this year.

I must be doing something right, as my outlay this year is $3000, my withdrawls are now $4500 and my roll is a healthy $5200.I wont play cash games only SNGs and tournys and all without chasing and in Mayems words not trying to make money.

Chasing fishes around in my opinion is not worth it, it may be worth it for some and good luck to them.

The reason I haven't contributed to this thread yet isn't because I don't want people to know where I think the action is..... it's because I think the fish are everywhere. I haven't met a Hold'Em game online yet that I don't think is beatable.
