Default My favorite...KK..woot woot

I don't really complain about bad beats too often...because it happens..and it's part of the game. I just don't understand what some people are thinking.

EUR 0,50/1,00 NL

Dealer: fredrikm19
Small Blind: joolo (0,50)
Big Blind: fare (1,00)

ME was dealt: Kc - Kh

toxen Raise (2,30)
ME Raise (11,00)
Preuss Fold
fredrikm19 Call (11,00)
joolo Fold
fare Fold
toxen Fold

Flop Qh - 5d - Jc

ME All-In (50,60)
fredrikm19 Call (50,60)

Turn Qh - 5d - Jc - 7d
River Qh - 5d - Jc - 7d - 2h

ME shows: Kc - Kh (a pair of kings)
fredrikm19 shows: 5c - 5h (three of a kind, fives)

fredrikm19 wins: EUR 124,00 (with three of a kind, fives)
Rake: EUR 3,00

I realize now my play after the flop was pretty stupid....can only get called by something that beats me....but I don't want people sucking out. Also if I hadn't gone all in after the flop, I would have probably fired out 15 or 20 into the pot....I don't think I would have gotten away from it either way. I just don't understand a coldcall of 11x the blinds with 5's. I seriously don't know how to play Aces or Kings....I either win very little or lose a ton. Someone knock some sense into me.

I don't know if i fault his call here. He already had 2.30 in the pot which means you were asking him to pay 8.70 more to see it. He does have a small pocket pair and it may be profitable to call here depending on your table image. (What was your table image?) Also a small pocket pair like this is really easy to get away from if there is nothing on the flop. Also if he thinks u have overcards he may be hoping for a low flop to try and push you out. As for your post flop play i would say a raise of about 22.00 would get you the same information here. If he calls your 22.00 raise post flop you know he has something but u may be able to slow it down till the river so that you would lose less. Betting 50.00 here does nothing other than get you called by a superior hand. With Aces or Kings its especially hard to decide what to do post flop in some instances...Its all about your reads on people and what you think would be the right move. IMHO it is better to win a small pot with kings than lose a big one, so try to win more small pots if thats the only way to avoid losing the big ones. Tough break though man.

I'll tell you exactly what he was thinking:

"Whoa. That was an afully big raise. I guess you have Aces or Kings. Ok, I'll take a look at a flop. If I hit my 5, I'm gonna get your entire stack."

Where I think hte was stupid was forgetting about the original raiser would may have had a hand also and who might have reraised preflop. Also, you didn't have enough money sitting behind you to justify me making that call.

But that's what he was thinking.

I can understand wanting to win with KK, but you're only going to do what you mentioned "win very little or lose a ton".

A giant re-raise after an original raise online instantly means AA KK to me. I might think they have a lower top-10 hand, but it's something better than TT. All depends on what you've been playing the last 30 minutes.

Hell, if I have a pair or some weird ass suited hand and I have enough at the table to not worry about folding after the flop, I'll call just for the hell of it.

If I hit big, I take your entire stack. If I don't hit, you're going to bet anyway, so I can fold without further loss.

A good raise on the flop would tell you what he has. He's already put you on AA or KK or something, so as soon as he trips...he's just waiting to take all your money. If he doesn't hit, he folds right away and the hand is over.
