Default Fantasy Football Help

Hey guys, I'm playing the SportingNews Ultimate Fantasy Football game for the first time this year, and can't decide what is the most important position or how to structure a team with this scoring format. It is a salary cap (50mil) game, so any player is available.

Offensive Statistics
Statistic TSNP
Passing Yards 1
Rushing Yards 2
Receiving Yards 1 2
Kick-Off Return Yards 1
Punt Return Yards 2
Touchdowns 2 60
Receptions 2
Incompletions -2
Fumbles Lost -45
Interception Thrown -45
Two Point Conversions 20
Kick-Off Return Attempts -10

Kicking Statistics
Statistic TSNP
PAT 10
PAT Miss -20
Field Goals (1-39 Yards) 40
Field Goals Missed (1-39 Yards) -30
Field Goals (40-49 Yards) 60
Field Goals 50+ Yards 80

Team Defense Statistics
Statistic TSNP
Points Allowed 3 200 minus (10 times Pts Allowed)
Defensive TDs 4 60
Fumble Recoveries 5 45
Interceptions 45
Sacks 20
Safeties 45

Additional Scoring Breakdown

1 Receiving Yards - On any play where a player receives a lateral beyond the line of scrimmage and advances the ball, all yards gained are counted as receiving yards. There will be no corresponding reception awarded. If a ball is lateralled but mishandled, resulting in a fumble, the play from that point will be treated as a fumble recovery and no points will be awarded for any further advancement of the ball.

2 Touchdowns - Any individual TD = 60 points for the individual player. If a player scores a touchdown in ANY way he will get credit for it.

3 Points Allowed - The following will count as points allowed by a defense:

# Any offensive touchdown by a team, and the corresponding PAT.
# Any field goals.
# Any two point conversion (regardless of how the touchdown was scored).

The following will not count against a team:

# Defensive touchdowns and the corresponding PAT.
# Special teams touchdowns, kick return touchdowns and the corresponding PAT.
# Safeties.

For example, if Baltimore is playing against New England, and New England scores (1) rushing touchdown, (1) passing touchdown, (2) field goals, and returns (1) fumble for a touchdown and (1) punt for a touchdown, Baltimore would be credited with giving up 20 points, 7 for the rushing touchdown, 7 for the passing touchdown, and 6 for the (2) field goals.

4 Defensive touchdowns - Defensive touchdowns = interception return, fumble return after any change of possession, missed field goal return, blocked field goal returns, and blocked punt returns.

That is one crazy league. Does it give you stats from last year, so you can see if TD or yards are more weighted, etc?

Edit: P.S. Come join our .

Yeah..

RB's get 2pts a yard and 60pts a touchdown, while QB's get 1pt a yard and 60pts a touchdown. WR's have same scoring as RB's.

I am thinking defense may be important too with the scoring format that they start with 200 and can game pts.

(Be sure not to miss the Edit I just made above)

Looks like it's weighted towards yards then. If a RB/WR has 100 yards and a TD, for example, that's 200 points for the yards and only 60 for the TD. For a QB, a 300 yard, 3 TD game would be 300 points for yards and 180 for the TDs.
