Default Fighting Illini

They just squeezed out a victory by 1 point against WICHITA STATE. What happened to them? Illinois should have actually lost that game, especially if there was an extra second on the clock since Wichita State made the last second shot, but time ran out before the shot. So, my question is, how good is Illinois this year and how far will they go this year.

I think that they willl win against MSU in the Big Ten championship but will lose in the sweet 16 in the NCAA tourney.

Michigan State and Illinois are both very overrated...

Im an Ohio State fan and Im telling you to watch out for us this year... we might not win the big ten but we will be in the race till the very end. Iowa is another team that is underrated as well.

Ohio State will be even scarier next year as we will get Greg Oden coming in... he is the best high school basketball player in the country right now.

Actually, after the win today against Rutgers, they are now 5-0. So they have won 5 games, not 1. Next step for Illinois is the NCAA title rematch against UNC. That should be a good one, even though UNC has lost most of there starters from last year to the NBA.

whoops lmao i thought we were talking about footbal here. shows how good i can read. i actually won 1000$ in pools last year by having NC winning over illinois (even though they are my home team) but if illini are good enough this year, i might have them #1 on my bracket

I too did put UNC beating Illinois in the championship last year even though I didn't want them to win.

By the way, I thought that Wichita State would give it away, but I guess not. Anyways, if Illlinois can keep up what they have started this season, they may actually go far in the post season.

Default The Illini

We'll see how far they have fallen tonight! ACC/Big 10 Challenge vs UNC....If they can't beat a UNC team that lost theor top 7 scorers then they have no chance. Hansborough, Ginyard, Green, and Frasor are talented freshman but UNC is a year away from returing to a top 10 team.

Well, the Fighting Illini won the game last night against UNC, but surprisingly it was very close in the end. Illinois blew a 15 point lead down to a 2 point lead late in the game, but they were able to hold on for the win. But since this was a completely different UNC team from last year, they should have won by much more. After this showing, it is iffy to say how good Illinois's basketball team really is.

UNC will be a very good team, which may surprise a lot of people, they love to push the ball up and down the court and teams will have a hard time to set their deffence and a really tuff time if they love to play a 2-3 zone. I will not be surprised if they make it to the NCAA Tournament. They will be a force to be recken with in the ACC.
