Default 2007 TP Salary Cap Fantasy Football...

We've had a couple of Fantasy Football leagues here in the past, but they were the traditional style, which was more complicated - getting the exact number of teams, scheduling a draft, etc. I found a great solution for us this year!

Basically, you have a $100 million salary cap that you can spend on your team. Player values change throughout the season, so if someone's value goes down, you can rebuy him and free up some salary for other players. If someone's value goes up, you keep him at the price you signed him for.

We can have any number of teams in the group, and I don't care if we play for fun or all throw in $10 or something for the winner to take at the end of the year. I say we let people play for free, but for those of us who want to play for a prize pool, we can do that too (only people who paid would be eligible, of course). I'm cool with $10, $20, whatever.

So, click the link above and "Sign Up." Once you have signed up, click Join Group (then Join Private Group) and enter the following info:
Group ID - 3652
Password - tpftpf

Then go ahead an build your team and that's all there is to it. Ta da!

Like I said, I think everyone should be allowed to play for free, but if you are interested in kicking in some money for a prize pool, say how much.

-----
Update: If you want to play for money, transfer $10 to TalkingPoker (Indialantic) on . Prize pool TBD after we see how many people want to play for money.
-----

Reply with your team name when you sign up, so we'll know who is who. Also post if/when you ship your 10 bucks if you want to play for money...

My team is the "Rogue Wave."

TEAMS PLAYING FOR MONEY:
TP - Rogue Wave
GeoffM - Cincy Jailbirds
drewjax - TheDrewCrew
BlibbityBlabbity - RushNAttack
Gordogg - Gordo's Chiefs
bigd007x - I LIKE SPINACH
lightfungus - {Awaiting Payment}

Questions:

This is just overall points (no matchups like in the past)?

We can all have the same players on more than one team (no draft)?

I will play for $10 if there are 4-5+ others playing for $$. Otherwise fun is fine as well.

I was just going to ask (today) if we were doing FF again this year.

I was also going to ask about FF today. Thanks for setting it up TP. I'm in, for money or fun.

Well...not sure I agree with you...I think that post was meant to make me look bad but whatever...

"Lol...yeah...100% not on my end" (implies im the idiot here...i promise you sir...i have done 3 transfers at FT with no problems...not sure why I'm having problems now)

"Not taking a personnal check" (obviously a trust issue...understandable)

"...already making an exception for you by taking money at FT instead of Stars" (if you do dozens of transactions every month...why is this an exception?)

What part of that is not trying to make me look bad? I know your FT screen name Troll Pie because you told me in a previous post in this thread!!!!

NOT going to open a Stars simply to play in a $10 fantasy football league...I will play for fun...

GL All,
burty1

Well, think what you want, but the explanation I gave above was 100% true. To address your indivudual issues though (*sigh*):

1. Email them and ask them what the problem is if you want. Anything else is speculation.

2. Not taking a personal check is a "pain in the ass" issue, not a "trust" issue. Big difference. If you want, see if you can find someone else to send a check to who will then transfer money to my TP Stars account. Or click the freaking "Register" button there and send them the check directly.

3. This is an exception because I use my "Talking Poker" account on Stars for holding money for things like this, etc. If I let you send to my personal FT account, I'd basically be doing a transfer for you - which is another idea. Go post in the Backer section and ask if anyone will send $10 to my Stars account in exchange for $10 from your {whatever} account. If the Full Tilt thing is a problem on my end, you should have no trouble transferring to someone else.

Lastly, there are other reasons to open a Stars account, you know... like playing poker on what pretty much everyone agrees to be the best or second best poker site out there.

Hopefully that will take care of this, because I really don't feel like wasting any more time defending myself to you because you can't figure out how to get 10 bucks to me for a supposed-to-be-fun fantasy football league.

Just thought I'd post a reminder about this. Right now, there is a whopping $30 in the prizepool:
-Me
-GeoffM
-drewjax

Unless many more people ship money soon, I say the three of us play Winner Take All.

People who said they would play for $10 but never sent it:
-BlibbityBlabbity
-Gordogg
-burty1
-juice[3x]

Hopefully we can get a few more people to come through and make this more interesting, especially since half the people on the second list are the reason I switched it from $20 to $10.

Come on, people - this is football! Even if you don't play for money, sign up and make a team. It will take you 5-10 minutes TOTAL.

I'm willing to put $10 on this, but I am waiting on epassporte for money. If someone wants to spot me until then count me in for it. Otherwise, if you can wait till September 4th I am supposed to get the money. What are the transfer costs there? It's hardly worth it to invest like 12 when its supposed to be 10 bucks if the transfer fee is 2. Thus, I would want to transfer on Cake (destination of my funds) or I guess I could move some to stars for a lil bit.

Let me know what the best option is. I am good for the money, I have been around here forever and the few times I have made promises I have come through (cite me losing chess to Aeq). I haven't deposited money since neteller shutdown and have played very few hands since then. The rest of my money I transferred away for real life cash to friends.

Here is the updated list of teams playing for money:

TEAMS PLAYING FOR MONEY:
TP - Rogue Wave
GeoffM - Cincy Jailbirds
drewjax - TheDrewCrew
BlibbityBlabbity - RushNAttack
Gordogg - Gordo's Chiefs
bigd007x - I LIKE SPINACH
lightfungus - {Awaiting Payment}

7 teams = $70. Unless there are objections, I say we distribute it as follows:
1st place - $50
2nd place - $20

We could do 40/20/10, but I prefer 50/20.

BTW - I had a SWEET team set for Week 1, but I thought stupid Randy Moss was hurt, so I completely restructured and cost myself a TON of points. Oooops.
