it seems like since you got a freeroll coming up all the older members are really being mean to the new members(saying they have worthless post)I like the set up of this fourum better than some other ones but the members just dont seem to be that friendly.i understand they think we are trying to get in the free roll but they dont need to target all of us.

noone's being mean to anyone.

it's just that some of the folks here, new and old alike, reacted to some of the new members' most obvious, in-your-face, blatant nonsense (post pumping, pass chasing, money begging, etc)

as you sow, so you shall reap...

New members are more than welcome and have even been asked to create accounts and contribute. Problem is, when any type of award is given for reaching a certain goal of posts, the quality of the posts declines. Asking the posters to think quality over quantity is useless, as we have seen with the pay-per-post.

I don't think the regulars are out of line or even inappropriate. I can't speak for the others, but from MY perspective, this site is getting harder and harder to log onto on a daily basis.

And stop being so thin-skinned. I was joking around, and it was actually pretty good, if you ask me. LOL - your first post to a new website and you're asking for money!? What? I am completely, utterly confused by your train of thought...

Are you here:
Wow, cool looking site. I'm sure if I log on and I post that I need a backer, I'll get one.

Or here:
Look at these gullible losers. I'll ask for money and offer 50% of my winnings! Someone will be stupid enough to take it, and I'll get away with FREE MONEY!

Which is it? I almost want you to be the "second" because (even though asshole-ish) it's at least not as stupid.

But that's just me... I can't speak for everyone.

Well, in that case:

I think the idea of a "backer" section only invites these types of useless posts, and it should therefore be deleted. LOL. See how easy? Anything worth anything (in the Backer section) could easily go somewhere in General Poker Discussion.

yeah, i never quite understood the need for that section. i wouldn't give money to myself, let alone someone else on the internet.

and people who know/trust each other sufficiently can simply do such a transaction privately without anyone else needing to know about it...

I actually only knew this forum existed because of the pokerstars freeroll.

Because of the our sites series of games we run being stokepoker, so it was directly above our games.

So i thought i would check it out and look to see if their are any omaha players around and general chit-chat

The site is for local UK players mainly to set up home games and suchlike.

very impressed with site up to yet. Keep up the good work

The reason the "Looking for a Backer" section (and the SPAM section and the Bad Beats section) is there is so the POKER RELATED sections can be kept clean. Instead of wading through pages and pages of shit to get to the quality poker posts, in theory, the regular users/contributors can skip those sections entirely. Get it?

If I removed any of those sections, the General Discussion section (or more likely the General POKER discussion section) would end up getting trashed...
