This just goes back to the point made in another thread: why on earth would you use Firepay when NETteller is available and cheaper?

Default neteller vs. firepay

I believe there are certain areas that for some bizarre reason can not use Neteller. Maryland comes to mind for some reason.

It's gonna take more than "lawyer boy" to insult me. What graduate school did you go to? Will you EVER make more than $50k a year? If that?

I was just jabbing w/ the backpeddler comment anyway. I thought it was totally ridiculous that I would be scared to sit at "Brian's" table... and "backpeddler" is the first thing that came to mind.

Default hey

Sorry was working alot today...

Let me try to explain, no im not a idiot for what I did. Poker for me is a fun activity I do that I enjoy. If I never make a cent playing poker im fine with that as long as I had fun. So im sitting on Party Poker with $2,000 and find out that I cant withdraw with firepay and by the way I cant use netteller because of where I live. So I made a decision to play levels that my bankroll couldnt handle for the reason of having F-U-N. I took some bad beats, people hitting 1 outers and I lost it but guess what I had fun. Wow there is that word again, I know alot of you are in this to make money but im not Im here to have fun.

Now if I play for fun and do make money then thats just a good outcome but if making money starts to kill the fun factor in the game then im done with it. I dont think im a terrible player and I post hands to improve but in no way do I EVER want to do this for a living. I give props to all that have chosen to do this for a living and I wish them well but its not what I want to do so give me a break...ok?

I dont really like party poker that much and dont plan on depositing on there again. I'am playing back on absolute right now with last $100 from my winnings and if I lose that guess what I had 2 weeks of awsome poker for the price of $25 out of pocket. Really dont see what is wrong with that? Really dont see why I have to be a idiot for doing exactly what I wanted to with my money? Honestly ive spent less then one thousand online and have had 1 year of a great time.

Some of you really need to calm down and realize that I dont mind losing the money, I will still eat tommorrow even though I lost $2,000. Even when I lost it wasnt upset in the least, just said oh well the money was used for the exact reason I deposited it!!

Default Wow...

I don't even know where to begin. So, randomly:

-I wish I had read this thread before I wasted my time in the HH section tonight. Since you are playing for F-U-N, obviously you don't care about getting better, so I find it quite peculiar that you ask for advice so often.
-Call me crazy, but I think SPENDING $2000 on real world stuff is fun. DVDs, TV, vacations, whatever. Losing it playing poker online is not fun. But maybe that's just me.
-How ironic is it that within this very thread, Aeq is predicting you'll go broke, you reply that you are a good player now and playing well, and then moments later (in internet time, anyway), you hand your roll over to the sharks at the 10/20 and 15/30 tables. How much will you ned to win before you get Aeq'a respect? I'm guessing more than the $0 you are at right now.
-I still can't even believe this. I mean, I can, of course, but dude, WTF? Why have you been pretending to take poker seriosuly and trying to improve your game these past couple of weeks? Why have you asked what levels you can play at with your roll, etc, when you knew you were just going to go blow it all anyway?
-If you think I believe for one second that you decided to blow your roll because you didn't want to wait for a check from Party, well... I don't. You moved up because you're a gambler looking for a quick buck. You've been hot and you got greedy. And then you lost it all. It happens to people all the time, and I think most of the readers here knew it was just a matter of time before it happened to you.
-I actualy find this quite sad, since I saw it coming. I know you claim it's ok because it was F-U-N, but I feel badly for your family more than anything.

Most impotantly:
-How sad that I never even got a fair shot at that 2 grand? It probably would have been even more fun for you to lose it all to me...

only somewhat read throught this post, yes I have a job and a very good one at that. It pays the bills not poker so losing the money is no big deal. The money was online to be spent. I do want to get better I even said that in my post but the #1 goal is and always will be to have fun. I played at higher levels because I wanted to not to make money, I didnt care about roll. I know that you are in this to make money and I respect that but im not so you should also respect that.

I knew by moving up I was taking a big chance of going broke but I also knew that it would be alot of fun playing in a bigger game. Really dont see where there is a problem in this?

Dont mean any disrespect to anyone that is trying or is making money playing this crazy game but Im not so give me a break.

Making money actually isn't my #1 reason for playing poker, but thanks for assuming. There is an interesting exercise in the beginning of The Psychology of Poker that everyone should do... Basically, you assign %s to the diferent reasons why you play poker. Maybe I'll start a new thread about it sometime, because it is quite interesting.

Regardless, it still would have been fun for you to lose all that money to me.

I could buy so much stuff with $2,000 lol. I would of cashed it out and went on a shopping spree if nothing else if I was planning on losing it anyways.

I cant just think about playing poker and not caring about losing. I enjoy playing poker or else I wouldnt be playing but I still want to make money.

the part that gets me is he really is trying to convince himself that it was fun to lose 2k, lol.

"yeah a buncha guys hitting their 1 outers and stuff"

shut the fuck up dood, you are a fucking gambling addict and your wife needs to cut your fingers off. if i was your wife (and thank god i am neither a woman or your wife for that matter) i would definatly stick a knife in your penis for losing 2k that the family could have used.

I dunno man, I lost a couple hundred over the weekend myself, but I'm not deluding myself that I don't care or whatnot. And I worked in a casino for 5 years, so I know quite a bit about people who claim to have fun while losing their shirts (relatively speaking, Colorado has a $5 single bet max).

Brian,
Let's put this into perspective for you:
I am up a whopping $25 bucks on UB right now...
How do I figure that?
Well...
I deposited $1k
Got a bonus of $100 in my pending account.
I have cleared $75 of it...
My balance is at $1125.

You would think I would say, "hey! I'm up $125", right?
Wrong.
The way I look at it, is that $100 was "MINE". I just had to fulfil a task to receive it. In this case, play some breakeven poker.
Therefore I am at $1150 total. [Current balance plus $25 in pending account]

I will consider myself to have lost if I finish my session tonight at less than this amount. Why? because it is MY money.

Ask yourself this,
If you played in the PokerStars 350k guarantee on Sunday, and hit an amazing run of cards and won the whole tourney, and were given first prize of $100k. approx.
What would you do if you could not cash out via Firepay, and had to wait for a cheque?
Would you drop into the highest stake games and blow it?
I wouldn't, I wonder what you would do.

Brian.
I don't know you, nor will I ever probably meet you.
I am about to give you the single best piece of poker related advice anyone on here will ever give you. And I do mean ever.

Good luck Brian.
You've got some tough choices to make in the future.
I won't tell you that you should do anything... I'll just say, even without ever having met you, I hope you make the right decision...
For your wife, for your sick child, and for your self.

I really hope you make the right decision.... Whatever that may be for yourself.

LOL....how am I addicted to gambling when I hardly spend any money playing, the biggest deposit ive ever made has been $300 twice when I worked the overtime for. I do not spend bill money on poker only extra money I make.

It would be real easy for me to open my firepay account and empty my whole account if I wanted to. Someone that was addicted would do this in a second. I have enough control to know what money I can spend and what money I cant spend.

If this dosent fit your description of a addict then really everyone that plays poker is addicted. If I where to bust out today I wouldnt go deposit again, its happened before where I busted out and didnt deposit again for weeks until i worked enough overtime for it. Please explain how you see im addicted?
