Vince Young, No doubt, No player has shown more leadership and dedication and impacted his team more this year than Vince.

I would like to say AJ Hawk but it will be between Hester and Young. I would give it to Young but Hester might get.

The dude can run, but I just can't get past the fact that his passer rating is just horrid (ranked 31st out of the 32 starting QBs in the league).

There's no chance that will get it because

1) He's a wide receiver

2) He comes from Hofstra (a school little known unless your from NY)

But Marques Colston deserves some serious props.

Outside of that definately Vince Young. Leadership and completely turning the season around for the Titans, despite only average at best passing numbers

I'm sure you may have a compaign for Jones-Drew RD though, and I cant say it isnt warrented. A "backup" certaintly does not play like that and put up those numbers!

Hester is awesome but won't get it.

Jones-Drew had a very good year, but he should be no more of a ROY candidate than Reggie Bush was, IMO.

Colston deserves it more than anyone, IMO, but they'll give it to Young.

Colston should get it...but a rookie QB that led his team in like four come from behind wins? Automatic.

Depends on what Colston and Jones-Drew do in the playoffs (if the Jags make it).

Dont they vote before playoffs like in baseball?

QB play is not all about rating. That is extremely overated. VY has had the most positive impact on his team. 2 months ago, the Titans were being talked about as being in the running for the #1 overall draft pick. Now they actually have a shot at the playoffs? (slim I know) He has really transformed that team and given it a shot in the arm.

I think he deserves it. He has come on at the end of the year; rookies usually fall off. Bush has also come on strong, deserves some love. Colston started strong, but he (and the Saints), have fallen off.
Jones-Drew is a stud, but kinda under the radar a bit.

I think Vince Young deserves it.

I don't agree, ask any Falcons fan. I watched Vince Young twice this year, once live here in Jax and then for our game up there and he made very poor decisions with his throws and had serious accuracy problems. Yes the Titans have gone on a run but a number of those wins were gifts from the other team (ie, mutiple turn-overs). If he can't improve on his decision making and accuracy he will be a below average QB his entire career. I'm glad we get to play him twice a year.

Yes, I'm biased but MJD has put up monster numbers (no other rookie has been as productive) and was instrumental in a number of Jacksonville's wins. Heck, I think Colston and Hester should be ahead of Young in the Rookie of the Year voting but I'm sure the over-hyped Young will wind-up taking it down.

If Colston didn't get injured, he might very well have caught 100 passes. However his injury pretty much solidified him not getting it.

My vote goes to Reggie Bush. He's sixth in the league in receptions , and definately stretches defenses, allowing the Saints and Brees to pick apart defenses.

Colston should win it. He's had a great game almost every game he's played in this year, leading the league in receiving until he got hurt, on a team with a legit shot at the super bowl.

Vince Young's numbers aren't great. Titans' defense deserve more credit than Young does for their success. Travis Henry deserves a lot of credit as well. I'm not knocking Young, I think he's done fine. But I remember way too many 125yd passing games with 1 TD 1 INT and 50 rushing yards. Believe me I know, he was on my fantasy team and I needed a QB so I was keeping track.
Jones-Drew had a solid year but he's not starting. I find it hard to give the award to a non starter, the numbers just aren't there.

I dont think the award should ever go to a kick off return guy unless he has ridiculous numbers, even better than what Hester has put up. Now if Hester was incorporated in the offense as a reciever and caught passes every game, scoring a few more TD's, then I would give him serious consideration.

He broke the return record with 6 (3 PR, 2 KR, 108 FG return) in 13 games. That's ridiculous enough for me. He is a DB and only played WR for 1 possesion this season. He won 2 games for us (PHX and STL) and deserves consideration.

However, the best Bears rookie has been DE You don't even know about him unless you watch a lot of Bears games. He was the defensive rookie of the month in October and he's got 12 sacks this season in a back-up role. This kid is gonna have a great career.

The numbers aren't there? Umm...

M. Colston (NO): 70 catches, 1038 yards, 8 TDs
V. Young (TEN): 169 of 321 (52% comp.), 12 TDs/11 Ints., 69.7 rating (ranked next to last), 6 rushing TDs
D. Hester (CHI): 6 TD returns (3 PR, 2 KR, 108 FG return)
R. Bush (NO): 1,490 all purpose yards, 8 TDs
M. Jones-Drew (JAX): 2,046 all purpose yards, 15 TDs

The numbers most certainly are there.

wow Jones Drew had over 2000 yards all purpose, I didnt know that... VERY impressive for a rookie.

I think either Jones Drew or Young deserves it... Young because without him the titans wouldnt be in playoff contention, his numbers arent great QB numbers but at the end of the game he has been money and that is all that matters. Jones Drew should be considered because his numbers are pretty damn impressive, 2K yards and 15 TDs as a rookie is pretty insane.

Colston is good but he faded HARD the last 2 months plus I think he missed 2 games with injury as well. If there was a half way through the year ROY award then he wins it.

As for RD being glad to play TENN twice a year, I think you should hope you schedule the colts 16 times a year so you guys can show up and play since you dont show up vs TENN or HOU.

700 of Jones-Drew's yards were garbage yards that came through running back kickoffs (mind you he did run 1 back). Take away both players special teams #s, and we get:

R. Bush : 1,274 all purpose yards, 7 TDs, 86 receptions
M. Jones-Drew : 1,315 all purpose yards, 14 TDs, 40 receptions

Bush also, of course, had that magical 4 TD game.

I go with Bush.

if it is Bush vs Jones-Drew for ROY then its def. Jones-Drew by far...

14 TDs to 7 TDs... Bush had 4 of those TDs in one game so that means he hasnt done shit in the other games.

Also Bush is only avging 8 yards a reception so all those receptions isnt that great, catching a bunch of 3 yard passes dont mean anything to me.

LMAO... so take away MJD's "garbage yards" and he's still ahead in yards and way ahead in TDs, but you still go with Bush?? Makes perfect sense. BTW, Geoff, go look at MJDs yards per carry average and his yards per catch average, he blows Bush out of the water in both categories. Lay off the koolaid dude.

MJD's stats are far better, no question about it. But I think Bush improved the Saints more than MJD improved the Jags. Without him, the Jags wouldn't have a much different team, but without Bush, the Saints definitely would. He opens up that game like you can't believe. You can't put a stat on that, but watch a Saints game sometime and it's obvious.

That's more the kind of criteria you use for MVP voting though (how valuable a guy is to his team) - I think Rookie of the Year just means the best all around rookie.... so that's going to be more stats driven.
