It has nothing to do with logging in. It's just an annoying (seemingly-random) server error. My guy is aware of it...... but it still happens. I'll bug him about it again.

Default Good news & Bad news

Bad news: I was away for awhile, couldn't log into this forum, due to this message: (view screenshot below)

Good news: I found out what could have caused the problem.

While browsing this site (one night), my browser froze and then vanished. When I went to click on it (firefox) an error message saying something along the lines of "mozilla is still running, you need to close it before ..." (can't remember all of the message).

What I do remember is doing something really stupid.

I chose to close it off from my Task Manager. Yes, I did get the WARNING, saying something about "terminating that process can cause some serious problems to my system", but still went ahead and ended it, through that process. Stupid, stupid...thing to do.

Funny thing happened while I was away, though. I e-bumped into someone... a member of this forum and we had a truly nice chat. He's a really nice guy and tried to help as much as he could .... and oh yeah, drinks are on him; if ever we meet up!

Thanks for the laughs!

Your one & only stalker,

Sophie

I'm not certain, but that looks like an error you would get when this site (the server) is temporarily down or screwed up or something. How long was this a problem for you? Was it just for a few minutes, or did it last for a long time?

Ending the Firefox task on your computer would have nothing at all to do with the server error you were getting. If that did cause your pc to act goofy, a simple reboot would have taken care of it.

If you were getting that Forbidden error for a long period of time while other people were able to access this site without problems - man, I don't even know what that could have been.

Since Sunday, 3 days!

I emailed both you and NewGuy, only 2 I had email addresses for. NewGuy was in Vegas at the time, and wasn't much help....You on the other hand never responded to my messages.

I added an 'away message' on AIM. asking *all tp members: if site was down?". No response there, either.

I posed this problem/question, in a different forum, and one member's response was : "It's possible the site is borked up. Try going in through another computer to see if you are banned." (borked means broke, btw)
The possibility of being banned didn't seem likely, since I haven't broken any rules, not that I know of...so I didn't bother checking that out.

Was about to give up, when a friend suggested I try "system restore", so I did and here I am.

He said there is a chance it might've been the 'closing off, by the Task Manager" or an IP ban (which is more likely) but...you didn't BAN me, did you? Accidentally, perhaps?
