I have never used it but therre is a freeware image resizer posted about here...
As you are resizing keep in mind.... Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

remember jpg are much smaller than bmp, so you might try resaving anything other than jpg as a jpg if file size is a problem.
