The Taj In Atlantic City

hi everyone i wanted to share with you my experience at the TAJ in atlantic city this past weekend ill start by saying i was playing 2/4 as I only had 100 dollars to spend and didnt want to waste it right away in 3/6 or above. My wife had 100 to spend on the slot machines and I had 100 for poker. 1st things 1st if you havent been to the TAJ let me tell you there poker room is amazing and very well orginized 1st hand i ran was k-10 and flopped 2 tens needless to say i won that hand and had a guy call me to river with ace high oh man can it be any easier!!!! ok to my left was this real new player that kept saying raise instead of bet even though he was 1st into pot after correcting him for the 100th time we gave up. I was in a pot with this guy and another one i was holding K-Q os and flopped a king and queen and raised got 2 callers and we went to turn got a blank raised, the real bad player called all in and other guy called, river card got flopped and the all in guy yelled YES i was like oh god what can he have yes he hit his straight on river man i was mad had to go smoke!!! By time i got back he had busted out of MY MONEY omg like 80 bucks in 10 minutes amazing well that started my downfall of terrible players making stupid calls and getting lucky lost 30 bucks in 1st 4 hours went to dinner. When i came back went to a new table and proceeded to get my bankroll back to 110 dollars then it happened again bad beat city needless to say at about 35-40 bucks left my wife started rushing me and i tryed to force stufff my mistake i know better im better then that oh well live and learn if you got any questions or would like to share your experiences please feel free dont want to go into detail to much thanks for listening.

yes sorry about that i'am at work and I work at a airport and had a flight on the ground I had to work, again im sorry about that. I will be going to atlantis in January and ill report how good there poker rooms are there for you all. I'm only gonna have enough money for 3/6 there so if there lowest is 5/10 I will save the money till the next week in atlantic city either way ill report for you guys. I would be happy to do a monthly forum for you guys to report your poker experiences either in live play or online. GOOD LUCK

any other recommendations for poker in AC? planning a trip after the holidays.

When you talk poker in AC, you're basically dealing with three places: the Taj Mahal, the Tropicana, and the Borgata. Each has their own tournament schedule and a wide variety of limits. Check their websites for details.

The Trop is a "darker" room, it's not as bright as the Taj or Borgata, and it offers the Pink game, which is $7.50/$15 LHE, played w/ $2.50 (pink!) chips. This game guarantees to be wild. The recessed lighting is nice, and it's a comfortable room.

Borgata has the best chairs, (bright lighting), and a LOT of players. Expect to get put on a LONG waitlist most weekend nights. Some say the Borgata has the best action in AC though. Tons of fish. I have yet to confirm.

The Taj is like the staple cardroom. It's my favorite for some reason - I've plaved the most there, for sure. Wide game selection, lots of players, good coffee.

[You can also play poker at Harrah's and Bally's, but their cardrooms are very small compared to the big boys.]

have to agree with you Lou the TAJ is my favorite also the room is always packed and tons of loose players to play pretty much easy money if you can stay on your game and deal with the suck out's obviously this day I couldnt. Maybe it had something to do with the 2 hours of sleep the night before.

I kinda like the Pink chip game, even if there is not one going it comes together QUICKLY and it has a flavor all it'a own.

unfortantly have to skip my december trip to atlantic city because I have to save up for Christmas but me and my buddie will be going January so If any of you plan on going in January let me know and maybe we could meet up with you there we will probolly go on a Saturday.
