$1 O8 Tourney on Stars

I am eyeballing this tourney tonight in case I can't get a drinking mate tonight.

It is only $1. I thought it might be kicks since there are probably a lot of people playing in these low buy-ins so the payout could be quite large compared to the buy-in. Anyone ever played in one of these? Just curious how many players would be competing. The more the merrier.

I just did a $1 PL Omaha one this afternoon. got 50th/242 (survived being short 5-6 times

).

The payout was pretty good. I think it was $60+ for 1st and top 27 pay $1.70+.

I am thinking about playing 20 or so to get practice in my new favorite game

Yeah, this is limit though.

I don't know, just my win rate has slowed a bit lately (mainly due to trying to clear bonuses at Pokerroom and Interpoker, no 6-handed action). I need to re-define my 10-handed game because it seems as though I break even every time I play them and I don't like playing for the sake of clearing a bonus alone.

The tourney may let me see a whole wack of hands and it will be 9-handed as opposed to 10-handed, so it will hopefully allow me to get my full ring game back to where it once was.

I believe 9:30. I haven't received a call from any buddies to drink yet (that is rare by 3 o'clock). Fuck, it really sucks being single now, but at least the wallet is starting to feel a lot heavier.

the limit O8 $1 on stars sometimes gets 600-700+ people.

When PS 1st started having the $1 LO8 tourney it only got like 200 but now it gets 600-700. The payout isnt much to speak of but Ive made the FT of one and won like $30 so it could always be worst.

The $1 PLO PS is running now arent getting as many as you would think... I played in one that only had like $150 and made the FT and only won like $9 lol.

I find the jump from limit O8 to PL O8 much harder than the jump from limit hold'em to NL hold'em.

I prefer the limit O8 because I am much better at calculating odds on the fly. I also find the limit game moves a lot quicker so this allows my "rainman" math skills to give me a huge edge, which is probably why I fair so well in the short-handed tables.

I will probably be having a late night on the tables so I'm sure I'll run into a couple of you tonight.

Sorry, Friday night I have a standing date with 'Stars $20+2 Stud/8 multi at 9:30 ET. Usually gets 130-170 people, top prize $800-$1000.

I've played in it fairly regularly for 9 months and my records show I make $30/hr in that tourney. pretty hard to pass up.

Nah, too much bonus clearing to do and not enough time. Trying to get everything cleared up this weekend 'cause of Empire next Tuesday. I also got the Stars max bonus to get to and Pokerroom has become a pain in the ass (noone plays 1/2 O8 on that damn site). And this may sound like some lame excuse, but believe it or not some nutbag decided to throw himself in front of my train tonight, a sad day.

Anyone end up playing???

I decided to play the $10 NL tourney with 1 RB and 1 AO on stars... finished like 40th so not too bad.

Not bad at all. Itook a peak at that last night but I've never played a rebuy and not a huge fan of them.

I agree with you Geoff but this was only 1 rebuy allowed during the 1st hour and the 1 addon so it eliminated alot of the idiots that go allin every hand, etc.

KURN - and if you blinked, you missed me.

Not a good night. Got down early and never could climb back in it, finished in the middle of the pack shortly after the first break.

All was not lost, however. I played a $50 + 5 SNG and won that one, so all in all, it was a profitable night *and* I got to bed earlier than I would have had I cashed approx. the same amount (3rd place) in the multi.
