I'm not sure how to even say this nicely.... I honestly don't mean offense and I'm not making a joke at your expense.

But when I read this, and especially the very last part (and ESPECIALLY when you mentioned N1kita, who is more supportive of you than anyone), I can't help but wonder if you've lost your mind or are someone who is either over or under medicated or something.

Again, I'm not meaning any offense here - I'm just asking that you step back and try to think logically about all of this, ESPECIALLY this post. I mean.....

This is seriously reminding me of the Rook overreacting thread.

One person made one comment. He doesn't speak for all of us. I promise you that he doesn't speak for me.

Good point. Thanks, Brian.

And my apologize for also initially misinterpreting your "broke morons" comment. I completely see what you meant now.

Sadly, no.... I'm stone sober and I haven't been keeping track, but I'll guess I've wasted 30+ minutes of my life on this thread now.

And I already know EXACTLY which one of my posts you are going to focus on when you get back, completely ignoring all the valid points I made and concerns I voiced. Hopefully I'm wrong.

MY only regret is that I thought it would be a good idea to reply to this thread as I was going through it, instead of waiting until the end like I would normally do. There was just SO MUCH to reply to though!

Stupid TP.

I suspect that's true. I'm going to go open a beer now for all your married guys. Seriously.... In fact, I may even make a new thread and see if I can get someone to have a drink with me.

Stay tuned.

If anyone can figure out a way for me to get the last 45 minutes of my life back, I will gladly pay their $10+1 entry fee into this tourney, if it ever happens.

Thanks in advance.

And with that, I can FINALLY close this thread.

Fine; I've been beat. I'll let the other admin know about the $10 buy-in.

As for Brian? You didn't need to bring up links to other threads. If you want to play it that way...maybe I should start linking some new peeps to some of your whining & drama queen type threads. Now that's worth my $10!

You misunderstood, like always.

When I said this,"And yeah I do take offense to what you just said Brian. Go team up with TP, Pshabi & Nikita...and all the others that will vote with you guys. <<--- I meant that they had voted for the $10 buyin. Not that I took offense to them. The offense was solely directed towards Brian's comments and no one else.

Edit: TP's full quote.

[quote=Talking Poker] I'm not sure how to even say this nicely....

Fair enough. That's certainly not how it seemed when reading it all in context though. Seemed to me like you were "losing your mind," which is exactly what I said.

My apologies.

And nice job only partially quoting me here, and not my disclaimers about that comment both before and after I made it.

ive just read this entire thread now -- JESUS

Not to get involved, but here is my honest take

- If someone has 5 dollars to play then they have 10 dollars to play. If for some reason they dont THEY SHOULDNT SPEND FIVE DOLLARS.

It is physically unrealistic and impossible for someone to have 5 dollar that they can spare to play poker but not have 10. If they have only 5 spare dollars in the world, there is a better thing to do with it than play in a tourny!

Before anyone jumps to conclusions about me, I haven't received a dime from my parents since I turned 19 -- well let me rephrase that, I havent received a dime since I was 16, but until I was 19 they paid for my expenses (insurance, phone, etc). On top of that we are middle class at best.

but 10 dollars is 10 dollars... a GED drop out can make that in 1 hour... several of my GED friends do much better than that!... and if you cant afford to spend any money bc it needs to go to bills, then 5 dollars in out of the question by far as well... if 10 is impossible how can 5 be just fine... what in the world can 5 dollars get you?! That wont even buy a damn fast food value meal these days.

Sorry I had to just get that out, Im not trying to stir anything, restart anything that may or may not have been finished... just read this entire post and needed to respond.

Edit: And I forgot one other part... this begging online. For a dollar here, .60 cents there etc. It's all 14-15 year old kids doin it, and they arent wanted on this site (not for the fact that they r 15, shit im young too [23], but for the fact that they are 15 with no poker experience, and nothing to add to the forum except flooding it with begging requests) If I ever have to resort to begging for 1 dollar , from strangers, over a computer, to play poker, FUCKIN KILL ME. Does anyone think any poster who could add something to this community would ask for a dollar for a tournament? NO WAY, and no way would i want to recruit members like that, they serve no purpose

Look at Hawt for example, he's 18, doesnt have much of a bankroll but he is a great contributor around here. He LISTENS mostly, and soaks up advice so he can improve his game, he participates in discussion about poker related situations.... his only posts arent found in the backer section asking to be spotted 1 buck for a 45 man tourny that pays 11 bucks to first prize (the most wasteful time consuming thing I can possibly think of BTW money wise), they are found in the poker discussion section.

And if he were to ask for a dollar in the backer section, I'd e-slap him, send him 5.50 and tell him to at least play a 5 buck tournament and send me my 6 bucks back (hey im a business man ) once he takes down the tourny.

Last example look at JD. This kid is by far the most improved player on the forum of 2005. Anyone remember when he was fighting over 20 stinkin dollars over a contest.... this kids bankroll is probably bigger than mine right now, has taken down like 6 1000 dollar first prize 180s and is playing 1/2 2/4 3/6 NL.... this guy opens a pot for over 20 bucks (not including the CB if he makes one) you think he cares about that 20 anymore.... what a long way he's come.... by far most improved player of the year

LOL - I forgot all about that! Ah, good times, good times. I do remember JD making good on a $5 bet he had with me, despite the "controversy" about this $20 contest win, and I also remember that little punk beating me Heads Up at Bugsy Club. Now that he's a formidable opponent, I SO want a rematch!

P.S. Remarkable - wrong thread, dude. You should have made a new post.

yes I will be the 1st to admit I was in a bad place when I posted all those silly posts of mine back then, which is why I made the comment "pot calling the kettle black". You are welcome to drag up any thread you like, I like learning from my mistakes and not trying to do them again. That was the point in posting those links for you was hopeing you would skim over them and realize that you are doing the exact same thing this time that you did then.

Rook for the record I dont hate you, I actully like you and im glad you are here. But when you go off on people that either are making a opinion or trying to give you solid advice yes I wish you wernt here. But you are a great addition to forum when you act normal and all. Most of the comments you got from this thread think a $10 buy in would be fine, actully about 90% of them have. You dont like that idea so you are going off on them, I dont get it, why ask for opinions if you dont want the feedback?

Why not just post "hey tp I want to run a freeroll between 2 forums is this ok", of course he would say no then you could say ok and the thread would be done. 3 replies and its over instead we are drawn into this dramatic 5 page thread that hasnt accomplished a thing but name calling and insults.

Another for the record I never called anyone a "moron", I made a general statement that wasnt directed at anyone. If you took offense to that then you must fit that catogory which is sad because I didnt put you in it in the 1st place.

If you offer someone a chance at playing in a $5 tourney vs a $10 tourney, which do you think most people ( not you rich guys in here ) but the majority of normal people would choose? Well if it was me, and I didn't have the $5 or $10, I'd try to make a quick $5 in order to play in this so called tourney. If by chance, I did have $10 and wasn't such a good poker player, I'd rather try out for 2; $5 tourneys instead of 1; $10 tourney.

Wrong again. When I first came here I had $1.20 in my account! If you had proposed a $5 tourney, I'd have tried my best to turn that $1.20 into $5 in order to play, no possible way of me turning it into $10 in such a short time.

Stars has tables of .1c/.2c, so I don't care if I have .40c or $1 in account. It's still money. I use the money in Stars to enjoy myself. Ever heard of putting money aside for your own enjoyment? Well, I enjoy playing poker, makes me happy & let's me forget about real life stuff for awhile.
I'm not like most women. I won't spend my money on 'girly' stuff like makeup or perfume or designer clothes. But I will save some aside and buy myself the best pair of running shoes or a comfy duvet or some scented candles, to meditate with (and I do alot of meditating, especially when I part this forum!)

Playing poker for real money is another one of my pleasures. I spend enough on bills and rent, don't I deserve some happy money to spend on myself?

Hmm...wrong again!
I can get a 24 case bottle of Naya water for only 1.99. So that means with $5; I can get 48 bottles. Sounds good to me, I love my Naya.
I'm not much of a fast food person. That stuff will kill you one day. For about $3.75, I can have myself a Hot Grilled Chicken Sub with BBQ sauce @ Subway's. I can have a mmm...Dairy Queen Icecream dipped in chocolate sauce for $4.25.
I can buy myself a new pair of running shoe laces for $2.75 or a wristband for $4.65. I can think of lots of other things worth buying for 5 bucks but I'm sure you get the gist of it.

If you buy wisely, then you can get lots of stuff for $5 or less. That's the problem with spoiled, rich kids today; they don't see or understand the value of $1.

You mean to tell me that if I were to lose all my poker money and I asked you nicely to loan me .40c you'd say no to me? Well, you must be one of those people that crosses the street to get away from the poor woman who's begging for some loose change. No matter how broke I am, I always find some loose change to give out. I've even spared a few bucks in Stars to give to a few friends when in need, and I don't have much! Guess the phrase, "the rich get richer & the poor get poorer," is correct.

Default Ok

lets try to get things straight here.

If you are begging for money online then you are one of a couple things.

1. underage = so you should not get money anyway because duh your underage.
2. addicted = you blew your roll and you shouldnt get money because you have a problem gambling.
3. free money player = hey your a free money player why do you need money anyway?

those are only 3 ones I can come up with if you can add to list then by all means do so. Rook most of this site are players that have established bankrolls or the ability and will to deposit. The point in making it a $10 buy in is to keep out the riftraft, numbers 1 and 2 on this list above. If you are only a free money player then go play freerolls and let the regulars have their games here. You are welcome to give input in the forum but stay out of the tornies if you cant afford them.

I know you are #3 and thats fine by EVERYONE here, we dont care. You have some money now, good job. Im still sticking to the $10 for me because I want to keep the riftraft out, now of course you are gonna say im talking about you im waiting on it actully but im not. If you calissify yourself in this then so be it. This thread has gotten way way way out of control TP said he wouldnt do a freeroll and that should end discussion. Stop taking shit so personal damn.

So again I ask you, why don't you think we should make this a 5 CENT tourney??? Wouldn't "most people" choose that? I mean, you could play 200 5 cent tourneys instead of just two $5 ones!!!

Certainly. So why is it that you can spend $5 on yourself but not $10? I guess I just don't understand how you draw this line, and why you are assuming so many other people must be in the same boat with you, when to date, ZERO have spoken up, agreeing to your freeroll plan... and that's zero people from THIS forum, let alone the other strangers that you are asking to trust someone here (me) with their money.

I understand the value of $1 more than anoyone. What I don't understand is how you can apparently choose to have one less Dairy Queen ice cream per month so you can play in a tournament, but not two.

I seriously can not believe that no matter how many times I and other people say it, you still think this is a good idea... and more importantly, you still think it's about the $5 and not the dozens of potential headaches and problems!!!
