Hmm. You push on the turn after a 5 hits and your first to act. Were you planning on pushing on the turn no matter what card came out, OR, where you representing the 5?

Analyze the texture of the flop, and put him on a range of hands when he plays back at you. IMO, if you were planning on pushing the turn no matter what hit, I would have just pushed on the flop. I have an AK, TPTK, and depending on the table, that's sometimes a good move.

In this case, I think if you did push the flop after his raise, he lets the hand go, and you take it down. By waiting to push, you let him catch up.

I thought he was going a bit strong at first but I think he's got it dialed in now. Although he keeps folding to me.

I put him on a hand like KJ or KQ and i pushed the turn actually thinking he would call but allowing him to fold and save myself from letting him hit his outs - i think pushing the flop is unecessary considering pot size.

I think u are talking in terms of results too much - u act like i Want him to fold that flop - I would LOVE for him to call the raise he did with 2 outs - why the hell would i want him to fold and pick up a measely pot when he has 2 outs ?
By waiting i let him catch up ? I pushed him all in with 2 outs - i dont think i let him catch up.

What the hell is that last line about?

If the only time you'll get your stack in is with two pair or better, good players will shit all over you.

Default what

with that board what did he have to fear, he raised 3x BB preflop. The flop was harmless and so was the turn, really what did he have to fear? A set maybe but hey if someone hit a set so be it right? I think he played it fine and just got unlucky on river.

also if you look all the money went in on the flop and the turn when he was big favorite. That is what you try to do in poker is get your money in when you are way ahead. I couldnt put the guy on a five at all with the action preflop and on flop.

Default Played it correctly

You played that hand the way you should, to get as much $$ as possible out of the fish. Sometimes you just cant help the poker gods - for we all know how cruel they are. I am a member of the World Amateur Poker Tour aswell, I think if you guys like to take this serious, think about joining, they have weekly tournament in pokerstars and freerolls in PS Ultimate bet and so on. Just an idea - registration is only $25 per year.

Default Hold on a Second...

I have a knack for being able to defend a persons' play both ways. So you have AKs, standard raise, 77 will call this raise all day. Flop comes K52 You bet out alright, not too crazy here. With $8 in the pot, you bet out $4. His minimum reraise was a test. If he puts you on a hand like AQ or AJ, you'll most likely fold. This will even test you if he puts you on a lower PP such as QQ JJ or TT. I know his 7's dont beat that, but hes most likely thinking he can bet you out of the hand with the K on board. Your re-raise to $22 was a good one, and this is the time where your Opp. should have realized you weren't trying to buy the pot. He's get $12 in the pot, with another $14 to him. Apparently he must've thought his 7's were good against a hand that he put you on (AQ, AJ, AT). The 5 on the Turn was a good card for the 7's to see. He knows you dont have the 5. Your overbet on the turn basically seals it for him in his mind. If he thought his 7's were still good on the flop, the 5 wasnt going to scare him, and he was moving in no matter what. Thats why he was in the hand. He didnt push his chips in hoping for the 2 outer, he was most likely pushing in his chips trying to dodge a 6-outer.

thats a pretty fair and good analysis, but i would have to say this guy was just an idiot in reality, i won all his money like 4 hands later, he was a typical call station, it was obvious his 7's were beat and called anyway, which is fine cuz i knew he'd keep doin it and soon i had all my money back and then some.
