Default Pujols

This guy just hit his 12th homer of the year, and were still in April.
Is it possible for this guy to put up another career year?
Best hitter in baseball by a mile, and A-Rod is an incredible hitter, but Pujols is in a league of his own.

I don't understand why people pitch to him. I mean, people pitch around Barry Bonds and he's hobbled and non-juiced and not nearly what he used to be...but for whatever reason, people sem to forget that Albert Poo-holes is probably the best hitter in baseball.

It boggles.

He does also average about a walk a game so far this year, which makes 12 homers all the more remarkable.

But Rolen is much better protection than Moises Alou, wouldn't you say?

Well, when Pujols is 0 for 6 on the season against your pitcher, I think you can pitch to him (I'm referring of course to Greg Maddux )

I don't see this happening. You guys are cursed with injuries, best bat and 2 starters out, too much uncertainty there for my liking.

Be nice to see Ramirez start hitting the ball too.

Am I going to be forced into uber-geek and quote some sabermetric things to tell you why they have to pitch to him?

It makes absolutely no sense to intentionally walk Pujols, especially with Rolen behind him.

Besides, a real pitcher (like Greg Maddux) can put the ball where he wants it and get Pujols out (as illustrated by Pujols 0 for 9 against Maddux this season)

Got negative rep points for my initial post on this, but what the hell, why not rub it in:

He just hit #18 today. I see 60 homers this year as a viable prediction. All this and dude is playing with a sore back.

Cubs never get going until June anyway. We're gonna pull an Astros this year, have a monster record after the all star break, and take the wild card away from Houston.

EDIT: No, I am not high.

Albert Poo-Holes is not human.

I just don't understand why people continue to pitch to him...

I honestly hope Pujos keeps this up and pitcher. continue to pitch to him because maybe we will be able to get the juicer out of the record books. Maybe Pujos well end up passing Bonds all time. Prolly won't happen but a guy can wish, can't he?

Cubs blows.... this is a fact.

Pujols is the best player in baseball, Ive been saying this for years. If Barry Bonds wasnt in the NL Pujols would be a 4 time MVP winner already in his career.

Go Reds!!!

I know they will fade but gotta keep hope alive right now.
