We are set to go fellas, and the league is capped at 14. Looking forward to establishing myself as not last like last year. Man I got fucked by Daunte and Jamal...maybe I should draft better this time around. See you in my tailwinds bitches!

So what are the chances I can get you to make semi-dramatic scoring changes to the league set up?

Make suggestions, we'll have a look, and see. Lets say, Fungus as commission and TP and I are the competition committee.

Ok, suggestions:

4 teams make the playoffs instead of 6 and we lose Week 17 (which is always a crapshoot in the NFL).

Change the roster positions from:
QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/T, W/R, K, DEF, D, DB, DL, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN
to:
QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Do we really want to deal with all that defensive crap? Yuck.

As for scoring, here is the current list - I'll put my suggestions next to each number:
Completions (1) 0
Incomplete Passes (-1) 0
Passing Yards (30 yards per point) 50pp
Passing Touchdowns (12) 5
Interceptions (-4) -2
Rushing Yards (10 yards per point) 20pp
Rushing Touchdowns (12) 6
Reception Yards (10 yards per point) 20pp
Reception Touchdowns (12) 6
Return Yards (25 yards per point) 50pp
Return Touchdowns (12) 6
2-Point Conversions (6) 2
Fumbles Lost (-5) -2
Offensive Fumble Return TD (12) 6
Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3) 3
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3) 3
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3) 3
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4) 4
Field Goals 50+ Yards (5) 5
Point After Attempt Made (1) 1
Sack (2) 1
Interception (4) 2
Fumble Recovery (3) 2
Touchdown (12) 6
Safety (4) 2
Block Kick (3) 2
Points Allowed 0 points (20) 10
Points Allowed 1-6 points (14) 4
Points Allowed 7-13 points (8) 2
Points Allowed 14-20 points (4) 0
Points Allowed 21-27 points (0) 0
Points Allowed 28-34 points (-4) -2
Points Allowed 35+ points (-8) -4
Tackle Solo (1) 0
Sack (2) (already listed above)
Interception (4) (already listed above)
Fumble Force (3) 0
Fumble Recovery (3) (already listed above)
Touchdown (12) (already listed above)
Safety (4) (already listed above)
Pass Defended (1) 0
Block Kick (3)
(already listed above)

Basically, I'm suggesting lowering the scoring a LOT, and especially the defensive stuff. I hate when some random defensive lineman scores more points than a stud RB based on pure luck. The RB got drafted in the first roudn and the lineman was a throw in later on... it's a crapshoot. I'm ok having defenses in the league, but let's lose the individual player part and cut down on the team scoring some too.

Also, what's this about 12 points per TD? Bah. That's just stupid, IMO. So I fixed all the numbers top to bottom, making them more in line with the actual NFL.

None of these are deal breakers for me, but I think they are a big improvement, and I ESPECIALLY want to get rid of those stupid positions. If you guys want to add ONE Flex position, I'm cool with that (RB/WR/TE, I guess), but I see no need for it. Let's just play the standard positions.

Thoughts?

I'll look at the scoring system tonight, but I do like the idea of dropping week 17. Is there some sort of schedule editor? I think if we did a 1 time thru round robin (13 weeks) and each guy gets 1 bye week, that would be the best way to balance out the schedule.

Fungus, have a look at TPs scoring system and see if you can tweak, looks good to me.

Guys, login to the pool and the first screen will show you. Oh, and eej, check the baseball pool, I offered a trade.

Agreed. My scoring system is good. Fungusboy? You like?

The draft is on 9/6 - there is a countdown clock on the FIRST LINE of the site. You can't miss it.

Here's the link for the league again, for those too lazy to go back a couple of pages:

Sorry I haven't responded sooner as I have been busy with school, but I will bow down and change everything...well I did. So here goes a year without DL/DB, so hopefully I will survive.

You want to play? We could kick eejit out and give you his spot, since he doesn't seem to be an active member of this community any more anyway. I mean, he hasn't even ogged on in 5 days, so what reason do we have to believe he'll be at the draft, let alone take care of his team. I'd much rather have an active non-piece-of-crap member.

Anyone object? If not, I say fungus, do your thang.

BTW... I think adding another Bench spot or two would be a good idea. Right now, we have 10 starting positions and 6 Bench positions. I think having about 8 Bench positions would be a good idea to help cover for bye weeks, injuries, etc.

Fungus, make sure we have an even # of players. That way, last pick doesn't miss out on the snaking back to the 1st pick overall.

We've got 14, which is fine, and we'll still have 14 after we swap the MIA eedork for GTDawg.

So who's on everyones wish list? If I get first pick, i'm taking Larry Johnson. I see Ladanian, Larry, and Shaun as first three picks. Anyone gambling on Bush in the first round?

Bush is likely to go around round 4 or 5 after all the established top backs, receivers, and quarterbacks have gone IMO.

These are the no brainer Top 3, IMO.
