How's everything goin??

Well, I'm still working my ass off but vacation is on the horizon. I'm going to Vegas for the first time ever, and was hoping that I could get some advice.

Best 200-300 max buy nl games?

Best tournaments 50-300.

Best nightlife for a 22 year old guy?

I'd also like to note that Bellagio has a big tournament series the weekend I'm going. I'm going to see about cash satellites into some of those events, but I don't know for sure.

I'll be there from December 7th to the 11th if anyone else is in town and would like to grab a beer.

Default Vegas advice

We had a good night club thread a while back ..

Since then Ice has closed, while Pure and Tao are probably still the hottest clubs in the city, though can be tough to get into.

For tourney and general poker room info, I'd check out

for random stories of misadventures

Well I will give this a shot, but as much of poker is as you know, the "best" rooms depend on the day and what people are there. So, I'll let you know what I encountered this summer when I went.

Old Vegas: Consists of Golden Nugget, Binion's, Four Queens, and a couple others. What I encountered there was older people mostly. Lots of "old timers" playing and the games were small and not that abundant. There was 200NL with max 300 or 500 (at the Golden Nugget), and 500 NL. Kind of a stuffy environment with all the old folks.

The rest on the new strip that I visited:

MGM: glanced at the game and I liked the look of it. Lots of young people that looked like they thought they knew what they were doing. I have heard good things about this room, which is a decent sixed room.

Excalibur: Smaller room and only spreads a few games. Had 200NL though, and I am sure you could find very new people to poker in those games as the casino seems out of the way of any local poker players.

Caesar's Palace: Nice sized room with both limits you are looking for. I did sit down with quite a few people that knew what was going on though, so be wary.

Venetian: Awesome room, nice and big and great service that keeps the games full. This was probably my best experience, but the competition wasnt soft.

Rio: TP and I played here during the WSOP. I have no idea how it was normally.

Aladdin: Small room, but decently run. They had 200NL, and I think that was their biggest game at the time. The min buy in was 50, so it was good for my friends who wanted to take a stab.

Bally's: Small and run by people who don't really care. Service was really slow too and the chip situation was iffy. However, I would say these were good games. THey had both 200 and 500NL

Bellagio and Wynn: Both sweet looking room's but obviously I didn't play there. Although I think they do have 200NL.

Paris: A lot like Bally's and the Aladdin, smaller rooms with more of a touristy feel. They definitely have the 200NL which is probably the most popular game in these places.

Can't say much about any of the other places really. I walked past Treasure Island, and it was small but not as small as Paris. It actually had its own area/room. Can't think of any more that I checked out off the top of my head, but hope this is a helpful starting point. Let me know if you have any other questions.
