Default New threads

I have no idea why, but the new threads thing never works for me anymore.
Alot of times it tells me threads are new, when I've read the entire thread before, and other times it doesnt have a new thread highlight when it is totally new and I've never seen it before.
Any clue why this is ?
I keep finding myself accidentally checking the same post multiple times cuz it tells me something new was posted, but really wasn't

Same thing happens to me. Do you have 'Remember me' checked off?

I sort of have that same problem. I think it is because you might have read the most recent "post" but there were other new posts before that (in different threads that you might not have read).

So this is what I do, after I visit the site, right before I leave I go to "Quick Links" (on the bar where it says User CP, FAQ, etc) and I click "Mark Forums Read". That way it makes it seem like I have read everything and when I come back only posts that have been made since I last came to the site are shown.

I do something similar. When I come to the forum, I quickly open all the subforums that have new posts in them, each in a new window. I then immediately click "Mark Forums Read" (bottom of the main page). I close the main window, and go through each of the new windows I've opened (one for each section), and then open the new threads in yet more new windows. I do all my reading/replying and whatnot, closing everything as I go. Then I go back to the main page, and do the exact same thing (this picks up new posts made while I was getting caught up), and usually the second time through, I'm all caught up.

Then I usually focus on the main page, and follow the new threads as they appear.

This might not be the best way, but it works pretty well for me. Posts sneak by now and then, but for the most part, I am able to stay on top of everything and miss very little.
