Default High Stakes Poker Gus And Daniel

Before I begin I will say I didnt know this was a repeat or anything and most of you have already seen this before... but I havent..soo..

I was watching High Stakes Poker last night where Gus Hanson (55) and Daniel N. (66) were both dealt pairs and both hit trips on the flop. I got real excited because I didnt know what was going to happen next, I just knew in my mind that someone was going to lose alot of money! The turn came giving Gus quads but Daniel now had sixes full of fives! Gus now checks the hand which then Daniel bet out...and ofcourse he is called..the river was an 8.

Gus knew he had the nuts..he knew it..nothing could beat him so he went all in.. where as Daniel had a FH and was thinking that maybe Gus caught a straight..but Gus acted first and went all in..Daniel ran everything in his mind..did he have trip 8's trip 9's which would have naturally been a better FH than his..and ofcourse he thought quad 5's...I was completely mesmorized by all of this..listening to Daniel's logic..andthe pot was going to be 600K ..out of his OWN pocket..for just this ONE hand!!! He called!!! Imagine if you were really in a hand like that and lost...

Ok..Did Daniel N. play this right..out of his own pocket 300K..You could see he was really torn whter or not to call that bet..when in a situation like that where your struggling like this..is it better to just fold it? He already had alot of money in the pot..but to add more to it?? What is everyone's thoughts on this?

I don't see how Daniel could have folded there. That hand was a huge cooler.

There were some other hands that season where I thought Daniel made some bad calls on the river when he knew he was beat, but I don't see how he could have gotten away from this one.

So much money in the pot there its hard to fold.Although it does go to show you that your first gut feeling is usally right and in this case DN had a feling he was beat! But I too dont see how you cant lose all your money here!!!

I dont know how he could have called it. You see Im pretty sure he knew he was beat, he himself figured it out, there was what.. a 1% of winning? The look on his face and his demeanor afterwards told it all. He knew and called, is how I look at it. First instinct was right.

Does anyone else have any interseting High Stake Poker hands to talk about? This is my new favorite show

I took my little bro to a casino a few weeks ago for his first time (I've only been a few times myself), and he sat at a table with me. First hand he gets dealt 99 and limps, ends up being just him and the BB.

Flop comes 29T, and he loses his stack to the BB's pocket Ts. Not only that, but he brought only 1.5 Buy-ins not wanting to lose money
