That's just it! I asked for advice on the tourney details. Your dissing the "poor ppl" wasn't called for. That's where this took a slight detour.

This isn't about being rich or poor, this is about making it fun and exciting and making the buyin enough for lots of different ppl to enjoy.

Maybe that guy asking for .71c will get lucky between now and the tourney time. I know I turned $11 into $39 in a couple of hours. Anything could happen and for you to disrespect us like that, sorry but uncalled for.

And yeah, you're damn right...it hits home; and it's personal for me.

And like the wise Pshabi once said to me,(don't rem the exact words but it goes something like this...) Chill out! Leave here, go outside...stick your head in the snow and then come back

P.S. I added stick my head in the snow btw....

I know it's a pain since most of play primarily (it seems) on Stars, but Blib may be onto something when he suggested making it at a different site. I just check Full Contact Poker (pokerroom skin) and I have the ability to create private tourneys with a $5+0.50 buyin.

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be anyway (that I've seen) to transfer money to another player @ FCP so it's not like I (or anyone else) can trade Stars money for FCP money.

Man...this would all be soooo simple if Stars' minimum was $5.

Guess you didn't get what I meant by that remark. It means put yourself in someone else's shoes (maybe my shoes) see what it's like, don't think you'd be making the rude comments you made just now.

Hmm I heard about you being, " the boy who cried wolf ". But hey did I ever once in this thread say I was leaving? Nope. Wonder where you got that from ..hmmm?

As for my excuse, well not hard to guess, that I'm not all that rich and when a person laughs at another for being poor, yeah it pisses me right off.

Hey I'm still here aren't I? And when I see you or anyone else making bad comments about someone in here or in general, and if I feel as if it's personal to me, then yeah, it's a personal attack and I'm gonna fight for them as well as myself; so live with it.

Do whatever you like. YOu wanna block me...go right ahead. Don't make excuses for yourself dude...just do it!

You should really pick on someone else...
The Swa has been done before...
I've got dibs on Penguin...
I believe EVERYONE has had a go at Lou....

Looks to me like Pshab is itching to get involved here... Why ignore his jabs about people not being able to afford $10? Sounds to me like your a bully.

I'm out for the night...so hopefully you (Brian) won't think I parted this forum. Not leaving just yet.

I'm gonna think over what you all had to say. And I'll talk to the other forum admin aswell.

Will get back to you all, sometime tomorrow.

As for TP...hmm hopefully you'll be drunk when reading this whole thread.

Wonder if there's any way of hiding this thread from TP?

Cheers! Wouldn't wanna be here when TP gets back.

we were gonna go to movie 1st but the movie theater was PACKED, so we went to mall 1st and ended up at outback at freaking 4:45 and omg it was packed. We waited a hour to be seated and then the food sucked soo bad just got home, never even went into movie theater because we couldnt even find a parking spot. Still was great to be out with my wife though so all worth it.

Default Rook

sorry cant contain myself.

rook you personally asked for my opinion.

then you decided my opinion wasnt right and got mad when I said I didnt want to be any part of a freeroll. If you didnt want my opinion then shouldnt of asked for it. Do I not like the fact that we got a million people that play for play money here? no I could care less as long as they dont flood the forum with stuipidness and backing requests I could care less.

most of the serious players here dont play for play money rook, most of us on here play for real money. If you dont want to then thats your thing but dont expect us all to jump at a chance to play a freeroll when we could just all get together and play a real money torney much easier. I mean I would much rather get together with the regular real money players here then get together with 500 chasers for a freeroll.

As for making fun of people with zero money, hell if you come to a forum asking for .71 yea you deserve to be made fun of. I have never made fun of you because you dont beg for money. Sorry when I get pages from users asking for money yes that annoys the hell out of me. Anyone that comes to a forum and one of there 1st 20 posts is in the backing section begging for money isnt worth the forums time. Obviously this person will never play for real money. I have never asked for money from anyone because I dont take handouts, id rather earn what I get either by working or playing and winning it.

Seriously though you need to calm down and this isnt 1st time you went off for no reason. Look at some of your posts in the past were you asked for advice and didnt like it and went off.

those are 2 I found were you take good advice and totally disregard it and blow up. Now im not even close to perfect and this is "the pot calling the kettle black" but I learned my lesson and trying to save you from making same mistakes. Take advice for what its worth, advice, either take it or learn the hard way your choice. As for me giving you advice, I wont but I sure as hell aint gonna let you talk trash and not come back with something. Sorry you aint my wife (thank god) so not gonna let you talk shit.

Like I said good luck with your freeroll but I KNOW TP isnt gonna be involved in it since he even said he will never have a TP freeroll again. His words not mine.

My earlier post was a response to the idea that anyone could actually give the freeroll chaser set any new ideas, I'm sure they've worked out pretty much everything by now like the other 'net scammers.

As for the subject now at hand, maybe YOU want a lot of players, but personally I'm a Quality > Quantity kind of guy, we should be looking to get players like JD, Mayhem and Shabi to represent us, not Random Newbie #172.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go picket the US Polo Association for its continuing economic discrimination, I wanna pony!

I haven't read through this entire thread yet, so my replies might be a bit dated, but I figured I might as well respond as I see thing. So, for this post:

My answer is still "No." And it's still going to be "No" even if you keep trying to convincce my how good this idea is. If you need a better reason that what I've already listed, how about the pain in the ass of collecting money from people, having to email the Stars affiliate people to set up the tourney, etc, etc, etc.

As I said, I'm not interested, but if the other forum leader wants to go through all of that, so be it.

I guess I just don't see the point though. I mean, how many people CAN afford to spend $5 but CAN'T afford to spend $10? I really think you're making this huge issue out of less than 5 people, if I had to guess... probably more like 2.

Stars does the color coding automatically. So even if the word "freeroll" isn't in the title, the freeroll chasers still no where to look.

EXACTLY. No way would *I* participate in a tourney set up like this. I trust Stars with my buy in money, but not dozens of "unknowns." It's just a BAD IDEA.

I'm certain we'd lose more people if they had to go through all this to play than we would because the tourney costs $10 instead of $5. 100% certain.

Not to mention all the headache, hassle, chasers, beggers, and hard feelings from the people who want to play but the password hander outer decides aren't trustworthy enough, etc, etc...

You're not going to get my blessing on the added freeroll complexity. But you've already been given my blessing on the tourney itself.

Put yourself in the showes of the other forum's members. "If you want to play, transfer $5 to soandso on Poker Stars and we will PM you the password on a forum that you don't even belong to 15 minutes prior to the event starting... provided nothing goes wrong in the entire process, like my internet connection going out, or TP giving me the names of the people who paid fast enough or matching those Stars names to the TP.com names that you don't even have yet, etc, etc, etc."

No way would people be stupid enough to go through all that. I wouldn't be, anyway.

If you are hellbent on douing this, fine, do it. But I don't want my name or the name of this forum associated with it in any way. People from here are welcome to take the risk in playing if they choose to, but when all hell breaks loose, I don't want people coming to ME looking to get their $5s back, etc. You'll need to do this all on your own. Call it "Rook's Peeps vs. PokerFlea" or whatever, and feel free to recruit your peeps from here any way you please. You've got my blessing to spam your tourney here, but I want it made VERY CLEAR that I have nothing to do with the unconventional buy in procedure, nor will I take any responsibility if and when anything (big or small) goes wrong.

In case I haven't mentioned this lately (I'm only approaching page 3 now), I still think this is a very bad idea.

Pros: Will allow people to play that can afford $5 but not $10.

Cons: Far too many to list... but I can easily think of a dozen or so, including this one that SINGLE-HANDEDLY offsets ALL the PROS.... LESS people will play in the tourney if it's set up all goofy like this than will if it's a simply $10 buy in where Poker Stars is trusted with the money. In fact, you can go ahead and put my name at the top of that list.

Hmmmmmmmm.... I wonder why you want to make this a $5 tourney anyway? Why not make it a $1 tourney or a 5 cent tourney? Just think how many more peoplw will be able to afford to play then?!?!?!?

The whole point to this is to make it fun and maybe get a few new members in here and make this forum well known. Only way to do that is to make it cheap enough for members to join in the tourney. If you make it too pricey then you'll be the same ppl that you were when we had the last tourney that you were in charge of. How many were we? 13? WTF are you talking about? A freeroll is too pricey? That was a free tourney (you played in it after all). I invited 22 people and 13 played. It was a private forum tourney, so yeah, that's what I wanted. Ok since there is 2 forums, maybe you'll get 20 peeps at most. Is that what you all want??

It was fun mind you but same o same o. We want a big turnout. We want people to talk about this tourney. At first it was, "hey, let's have a tourney with the members of TP against the members of another forum." Now it's a crusade to drive up membership. A $5 tourney that only gets advertised here and on the other forum is not going to produce new members. I'd say that 90% of the people who joined the forum at the time you did or after joined for a freerolll. Frerolls are free. All in all, I'm not feeling it. You really expect people to pony up to TP ahead of time from the other site? If you think each forum leader is going to take care of their own, then who is setting up the tourney? If you do it like you suggested, then someone has to set it up as a "freroll" at Stars. That would require one of the forum admins to actually put the money up ahead of time, with the good faith that the other admin is going to give him the money he's collected. Who would want to do that? Well those were my plans. Guess you guys just want to play each other. If that's the case, I'll suggest it to the other admin.

I think we need a vote on this....we need "Superman" ..wait.... no; wrong dude lol....we need Blibbity to set up a vote count thing-a-ma-jig. Furthermore, if the forum name is going to be put on this thing, I'd like for the forum to be well-represented. It's not my forum, but I wouldn't want a bunch of low-balling recruits brought in to "represent" the forum. Let's have the members do that. I think you've gotten criss-crossed on what you're trying to accomplish here. Are you trying to set up a tourney so that the forum can "battle" another for a good time and bragging rights, or are you trying to recruit people? BTW, we've had a number of buy-in tournies on Stars and I can't think of ONE member who was drawn to the forum and stayed here because of one of them.

Thank you. Maybe I should have just skipped to this post instead of reading everything before it and replying to it one at a time.
