Default bankroll building

was looking through some of the old posts and noticed the bankroll building contests. They were fun as hell for everyone and was wondering if anyone would like to do this again sometimes soon?

if you want to know what I'am talking about do a search for bankroll building. I think it would be fun to do this again and kinda fits into what I plan on attempting. Maybe we can all throw $5 in the pool and winner of contest takes it all. I know not much for all the high rollers here but might be fun. Post if you are interested.

I remember it was $100 into 1k and $25 into something, think like $500 or something, I would do either. Of course stil playing low limits, I expect all you guys to bust it pretty quick playing some high limit and taking one bad beat then me flying under the radar playing .05/.10 up $20.

but seriously Im really interested in getting this going.

I think it has to be something like $0 into $100,000 to get JD interested these days....

I'm interested. I almost suggested doing a longer term thing to turn $100 into $10,000 or something, but then I remembered how difficult it is to keep track of for a week or two, much less a few months or more....

As a side note, I heard something (on here I think) about Jesus doing another bankroll building contest from $0. Does anyone have a link to anything from him describing the plans? I want to try that one of these days.

I would do any amount into anything but im not shooting for hitting 10k,5k hell not even $500, I just plan on grinding. But I do think this would be real good and we all know how you LOVE doing updates for us.

I think we could do a month long one at the very longest, depending of course how many people join. Im sure TP will join seeing as he won the $25 one and has to defend it. Count me in, and I hope its easier to track this time.

Honestly, even though it was fun, I doubt I'll join this time (unless we start at $100 and I'll just go for broke if we do that). I'm trying to focus on more serious poker when I do make the time to play, so I don't think I'll want to mess around with this too much.

I definitely recommend this for others though. Maybe post a link to one of the old ones so people can see how we did it, the rules, etc.

I can totally respect that, if you are trying to get real serious about 3/6NL and all I can see why you wouldnt want to do this.

as for the links sure here u go

thats the one from $100 into 1k which I think is good!

edit: if we start this think it should be started 1st of next month and run a whole month or 1k whichever comes 1st. Should be ok because high rollers like JD wouldnt be able to play higher then $100 NL for this seeing as you cant have more then $100 to start out at the table. So read through the thread and post if your interested then if there is intrest we will talk about a prize pool.

im interested.

So, reading TP's post got me thinking that this is not the best way for us to compare the people on the forum as people's limits/bankrolls vaires so much lately.

The August Goals, September Goals, etc..... has replaced this (not as a contest) with individual goals and progress toward meeting them. This is SOOOOO much more exciting, interesting and worthwhile to everyone here. Compare that to making JD wast hours grinding at .10/.25 and he should REALLY just go to class!

There may be a bunch of players here who are interested. I MAY be interested if I haven't set goals for myself that would be better served. But maybe the better plan is to just set a goal, POST IT, and meet BEAT it!

Maybe, if it HAS to be a competition, we can vote on who set/beat their goals for the month/year? This could be based on challenge, % won compared to starting roll, etc, etc.

Just a thought.

He said he was turning it into a book.

After posting my last post I pulled all my money out of poker sites except for $10 bucks on fulltilt. withdrew all my money from neteller too. I am gonna see
how far the $10 will go, if I go broke (hope not) I will only play freerolls to start over. Lets see how far I can grow to the end of the year.

Let it be written let it be done.

I personally dont like setting goals, thats just me. My goal is to not have to ever deposit again. I will but any deposits past my next one will just be additions to my bankroll and not needed to play. I actully cant stand setting goals because if you dont reach them its like you were a failure. I honestly like the bankroll building contests but if there is not enough intrest and you want to do the goal thing that is fine by me also.

I do see your point though about JD grinding .10/.25 would be really big waste of his time. BUT there are alot of low limit players on here also that might be intrested in it. Lets see how many are interested in next couple days and decide to go from there.

Goals don't have to be make $x in x days. Just setting out to do what you posted the other day: Play within a set limit, play your best and build within your limits is a goal. I totally understand that it can be frustrating not to meet a monetary goal you set for yourself.

I wasn't saying this should not be done. It was fun the other times and if there is interest it is a good idea.
