Default a little ass-kissing and a question

So TP- a while back you chastised me for being “too results orientated”. I appreciate that you most likely don’t remember it and it is not remarkably unique advice, as I have read in books and seen elsewhere. But for whatever reason, it stuck and I have been thinking about this since then. I have come to see the wisdom in this advice. Like many things in poker, you can read the words and understand the meaning, but until you actively internalize the process during your game, you will not improve.

So although most of you already have this notion nailed down, thanks for the advice. The only solace I can take when the bad beats rain down is that I played well and got my money in as a favorite, didn’t give the assclown odds to draw me out, etc. And, in the grand scheme of things (the “really poker is just one big session over your whole life” thing) playing consistently good poker will always win you the most.

Ok, to give this thread merit other than to kiss TP’s ass, here is a question. I understand how a good player can play loose and aggressive and be successful, numerous pro examples come to mind, but that play seems to rely on postflop play, getting reads, etc. Does anyone think that a loose aggressive style can be successful at the low and intermediate levels online?

when playing low limits, with a table full of calling stations, the most profitable way to play is straight up, and let them pay your monsters off

If you are playing at a table full of scared money, then aggression will pay

Remember, if a player isnt smart enough to be aware of a possibility, you can't use it against them
