Default My tiny review of Ultimate Bet

After playing there for about a week and maybe 35 hours I have to say that they have some really nice things there, and some really average things there. I went there simply for the bonus which takes a while to clear, but can be done profitably, this I am sure of. The SNG games are a bit tighter than other sites which I think leads to a bit of a more agressive strategy needed to win these games, that I like alot. The players in the low limit cash cames are average to horrible to downright charitable, I have never in my life called a hand on the river with Jack hi, but I did here once and won the hand against a guy who was just giving chips away, apparently people still think you can just buy pots at low limit tables and that is just not the case. Now in this example we had got a decent pot built, got to heads up on the river and I missed all my draws (open ended str8 flush draw) but he only had .25 left at this point and I wasn't folding a $20+ pot for a quarter and turns out Jack Hi was a monster against this guy, go figure. Anyway I really like the fact you can use Ultimate points to buy into cash tourneys or tourneys where they give you TEC chips for the $100+9 games, you can also use them to get into Ultimate Point SNG games where they pay out the entire entry pool in Ultimate Points. These games are incredibly soft! I won 2 of them yesterday, both 200 point entry which got me 1000 each in return, at that rate you can have enough points to play in some nice cash tourneys in no time.
Anyone play in the $100+9, how are those games?

I don't like the player stats, they aren't as detailed as Stars, which I think are the best, I still haven't stumbled around enough to find how to request hand histories, and the multi tourneys don't have near the number of players as Party or Stars. I did have some connection problems this week and I have never had them with Party or Stars, but it's possible that is on my end and not theirs. I am still stalking the player who is playing as Phil Hellmuth and I'll let you know when I find him.

Overall I like the place and it was worth playing for the 20% bonus, it won't become my favorite place to play, but I will probably stick around. I haven't requested a cashout yet, if there are any problems I will let you know.

Thoughts?

My biggest problem with UB was game selection, a lot of times I had a pretty hard time finding the game I wanted. Besides that, I am a pretty big fan of their website in general, sleek design, and the rewards points system is unparalleled.

EDIT: Forgot one thing: their guaranteed price pools are HUGE compared to Empire/Party: 20+2 rebuy 40k guaranteed, 5+0.5 rebuy 10k guaranteed etc...I saw that and was like ... wow.

Nice review, thanks.

I am in the process of clearing a Stars bonus, but when I'm done (and the sharks at Stars don't take all my money!) I'll think about trying a new site. Maybe it'll be UB!

Almost embarrased to say, but I played all day while watching the football game and I never even got to a real money table, those Ultimate point games are just begging for the beating, I shit you not I still have $12 of bunus money to unlock and you have to earn points at the cash tables to unlock it, not in the SNG or NL point games, anyway I probably got like 300 or so from playing raked cash games and I now have 5918 in my account! I'm gonna use em to try to get the TEC chips for the 100+9 games, probalby would be a long time before I buy into one of those so this is my best route. I gotta get to those cash games soon though

This is by far my favorite site. PLayers are bluffable, yet loose. I'm not much of a reviewer, but I absolutely love this site.

Penguinfan...you can unlock your bonus through SNGs and Tournaments. It will tell you how many points you get for playing them, also, you get 1 point per hour of play anywhere on the site (even play money)

I meant playing in SNG and tourney that you buy in with Ultimate points to win more Ultimate points. In the long run this is a big waste of time I am sure, but it was fun running up the score today.
