Default Weak and Strong players

What does a strong or weak player exactly describe?

I hear this term being thrown around, and I still don't know what it specifically describes. Does a weak player mean he's not perceptive like a strong player would be?

Thanks in advance.

Most people use the terms weak and strong interchangeably with good and bad.

I know I also often use the term weak to mean passive, but I don't necessarily use the word strong to mean aggressive. For me, strong means good.

winning players are not always strong players and vice versa, alot of things go into being a strong player, vp$ip, total aggression etc etc. A losing player could be a very strong player but just on a real bad run. Take bdawg for instance, bdawg is a very very strong player but because of his last run you would think he was a weak player but he really isnt.

on the flip side there is a player named ##$*% who is a very very weak player but hit it big and got on big rush and now he is very very up. All in all he is weak but if you looked at his bankroll you would think he is the next JD.

If you log enough hands with someone you can see by their overall stats if they are weak or strong.

I simply look at it as weak meaning a player that limps a lot, calls a lot and shows very little aggression. Strong players, to me, means someone that raises quite a bit preflop, then will almost always CB and will also look to CR and reraise often.

This is what I was getting at when I answered my first post, because I kind of mix the definitions and I probably shouldn't.

Weak --> Bad or passive
Strong --> Good or aggressive

When I say "weak," sometimes I mean bad, and sometimes I mean passive. Fortunately, most passive players are bad players, so that's fine.

When I say strong, however, I most definitely don't mean aggressive - I mean good. And not all aggressive players are lunatics. There are plenty of super-aggressive players who are bad players.

I'll try to be a little more careful with these terms in the future, especially in my Videos.

A couple of my buddies from Georgia Tech are on this forum and recommended it to me. I saw your videos surfing the forums and figured I could use someone else's insight. Your videos have really helped me and I just took 4th in a 5k MTT today. Cheers and Happy Holidays.

The only other option is Bdawg, but he plays good (mostly ), for the hour God forgets to Curse him with the worst luck ever.

Yeah, but it can't be him, since he was in the paragraph before, and this was the flip side of that one.

I also never said the bad player was from this forum, that was something you assumed because I included bdawg from the 1st paragraph. I might of been talking about some guy that final tabled a major event.

your right TP I have never had a really big hit so your right cant be me.

I also could of been talking about a imaginary person, maybe I put it in #$%*& because the person dosent exist. I honestly have never seen you play eejit so as much as I might joke that your the biggest donkey in the world I really have no place to say since I think I have sat with you all of 2 times.

as for what you have won this month so far that really dosent mean you are strong or weak player. What you post when you post your hands and your thought process through the hands is what someone would base their opinion on your play. I'm no where close to a strong player but I also dont feel Im weak, I feel I have alot of holes in my game which is why I post so many hands and why I argue when someone gives me advice on the hand. I dont want someone to just tell me this is wrong or that is wrong I want to know why it is wrong. Except if TP or Shabi say something I did was wrong, I actully argue with them because its fun.

wow that was too long anyway see ya.

It was a 5k Guaranteed with about 550 players. I cashed out 377 for a buy-in of 10 dollars. I should have placed higher as I was a 2:1 chip lead beginning at the final table, but I made an awful awful all-in call with 3rd pair.

All fold to me, in SB I have A5 off, I min-raised he called. Flop comes 10 high with a 5. I CB he moves in, and I do my patented insta-call. Hah what a blow up. To say the least I was very dissapointed in my play, but at least I was able to take away a couple bucks.

Yo Dave I just cashed like 377 for a 10 dollar buy-in. The tourney was like 550 entrants and I took 4th bleh. I was chip lead going into the final table but blew up with a third pair call hah.
Bankroll is at $500.
