well ive had some success with stars.... doing a lot of differnet things.. i got 10 bux from lou, got it up to 50 by playing heads up matches, then i won 1st out of 2000 in a 1$ entry tourney so i had 400 more to play with.... then i used that to pay off debts and started over with 3 bux, playign 1 cent / 2 cent blinds, built it up, played a combination of low no limit cash games and sit n gos until i had 50 again. then i just stuck w ith .25/.5 no limit, and have built it up to $350. just do whatever youre best at, but at low stakes. its a pain to build up in low LIMIT, i highly reccomend low stakes no limit cash games.

Default hey

well as I posted in another thread I started with $25 and now have over $500 starting at those low limits. Im not big fan of low limits, much rather be playing 2/4 but if you have to start somewhere then its not bad. It can be done but its very boring!!

I agree that the low-limits must be boring.
Heck, I would love to be playing $100/200 NL...
But let's face facts....
Unfortunately, that's what alot of people refuse to do.
They refuse to face facts....
They continue to play in games in which they are not properly rolled for.

Some of them win.
Many more lose.

If I were to go broke, (which will only happen when I take a shot) then I know that I would be unable to play the penny games to work my roll back.
I would put money aside and re-deposit a starting roll.

I have alot of respect for those that are willing to grind out a roll at the pennytables, without risking their roll in higher limits....
These are the players that have the "dedication" to learning the game...
These are the players to have on your buddy list, and to avoid in your games at all costs... They know the value of a Dollar.

I hate micro limits!!!!, I love 2/4. Im actully playing 2/4 right now with a little under the must for the level because it is the game I feel most comfortable in. Maybe its because that is the game when I go to the casino that I play, I do keep a very close eye on my current bankroll and I do have a set lose amount that I have to abide by or I drop down levels. So far I havent had to drop down and im up about $250 in last 2 days and slowly building back roll before my $500 blowout.

grinding out 1/2 cent no limit isnt a reason to respect someone... or fear them... it just means theyre more patient and/or more broke than the average gambler.... if they have a 1000$ bankroll and they play penny stakes, thats not someone u should fear... its someone who probably shouldnt be playing poker

There's a big difference between someone who plays 2 years slowly working their way up from penny stakes to even the $2/4 level.
Let's say they played 400k hands on the way.
He is very dedicated and patient and does not jump levels until he is properly rolled.

Now Player B has only played for 4 months and bounced his way from his initial deposit of $50 to the $3/6 level and has a current bankroll of $1200.
He has played 95k hands lifetime...
He takes frequent chances and has played as high as $15/30 at times.

Who do you fear more?
I personally would be more leary of Player A.
