Default best way to build a Bankroll with 10$

I just received a letter in the mail from Pacific poker saying they put 10$ in my account. I have never deposited there before or anything. I have also never started with only 10$. Im a much better trny player than ring IMO. But i was looking for some advice on bbuilding from this small amount.

Default hey

I built $5 into $300 on pacific way back when then lost it on high levels. I won the $5 in a freeroll. The way I did it is I started at the .05/.10 limit tables and built it up it was very boring but thats how I did it. They do have NL tables now so you might want to check that out but you could lose that money in one hand so I suggest the limit tables. Its gonna take awhile but if you play smart poker you should be able to build up to the next level and keep moving up when you have the bankroll for the next level. I dont think you can cash out though until you deposit something, one of their rules I believe.

If you are asking a question like this when you have a bankroll of $10 you are in serious trouble.
Your best bet if you are seriously thinking of playing tourneys with a $10 bankroll should be to get into the highest limit game you can, and playing the first hand all-in.
Actually, an even better idea, would be to take the first quarter you find on the street, and put it into a slot machine. You'll have better odds to win then playing tourneys with that roll.

Brian actually gave you some good advice.
You have 3 options...
1 Take the advice and grind out a bankroll.
2 Save some money until you have a decent deposit to take advantage of first deposit bonuses.
3. Do it your way and go broke on the same day.

Good luck. You are going to need it.

I traded TP mu TEC for money on ub and am doing fine there. I have no means of depositing online unless i mail a check or player transfers. I was just looking for advice since i have never started with a roll this small

Grinding it out at micro-stakes limit holdem is probably the best way to go, just because there is less variance.

W/ $10 free, I would sit at a 5c-10c NL table w/ the whole amount and let it ride. Build from there. It's only $10 bucks - if you lose it, no big deal.

I'd probably fall asleep playing 5c-10c limit.

Default my two cents

Ironically enough - it seems the easiest way to turn a $10 bankroll into a $30 bankroll is start some long, drawn out debate about it and then have TP pay you $20 for generating the most posts.

It would even be MORE ironic if TP has the same contest in April - and someone could start a big debate regarding whether he should take the $20 cash or the $30 book.

I feel in some way i am contributing to the madness by adding to this thread - but i can't help myself.

I think this thread is worth the book. Not only for the sheer number of posts, but (if you've been following it) it's much more interesting than other boring threads like: Cashing Out Habits and my "Gambler" thread.

Just my opinion. And another post.

Default Free money is always appreciated

I whored Pacific a long time ago, then cashed out and left, so I was pleasantly surprised to receive snail mail notification of my $10 free. I've run it up to $30 playing .25/50 limit in fairly short order. I'm using the super-sophisticated strategy of folding garbage and betting premium hands hard. It's 7 to a flop right now, but I assume it will get tighter once a lot of people burn off the $10. Goal will be to make it to $50, then cash out.

Default Thank you Pacific

With a lot of limit hands behind me, I can confidently say that solid, no-frills limit play should work at micro-limit to as high as 4/8, which is as far as I can speak to with any real experience. The only difference I find is the variance is a little greater at microlimit as more people are calling with a wider variety of pre-flop hands, so there are more gut-shot straights hit than at the (relatively) higher limits. So don't play above your roll, and patience is key. Duh.

While battling this damn head cold, I continue to crush .25/.50 at Pacific, as could anyone with a copy of a good starting hand chart. I've turned the free $10 into $45. But as you can imagine, it has taken a while. If I could multitable, it sure would go a lot faster. Goal was $50, but it is getting late, and I’m tired.

I'm cashing out most of it (the rest will be sacrificed to my occasional dabbling in Omaha), and will be back at my usual Party 2/4 game next week. Still, it wasn’t bad considering, and I played so long I’m sure they made more than $10 in rake. Wonder how long my cash out will take?

Go get them Bigjohn...
The SNGs are a joke on that site...
You should do well.

I tried a little experiment on the $2+.xx SNGs a year or so ago...
Try folding "EVERY" hand...
I cashed in 14 of 20.
It may have changed, but I doubt it.

Throw a couple of decent starting hands in there and you are all but guaranteed a 2nd place finish... Then it's up to you to take the win...

I'd kindof like to see you pull out a decent roll by month's end...

Knock 'em dead.!

I seriously hope you don't think I have an issue with you personally Bigjohn...
The stuff I said to you was meant to keep you off Tourneys until you had some sort of roll.

Do yourself a favour and stay within your roll...
Honestly, it's the best advice you'll ever get.
