That was a REALLY bad call. He did have a draw but even heads u there was too much of a chance he was dominated (worst case being a Kx in suit). As it turned out he did have outs to the flush, but even then that is a big gamble at a final table when every place increases the payouts.
IMO, the raise preflop was a pretty bad move with the same logic. He was out of position with a hand you really want to see a cheap flop with (as it will either hit or leave you with nothing). The big raise "almost" commits him and he should have a pretty good idea that millions will call with any reasonable hand and may get all the chips in preflop with anything better than average. My guess is that there wasn't much limping going on with millions in such a chip lead? |
