That's exactly the type of reply I am looking for.

AEQ - With regard to the first hand... I suspect you were trying to check raise, but with that much money in the pot and that many callers, I think you should have bet it out for sure. You ended up giving (a very dangerous looking) free card, and cost yourself at least 3 BBs, probably 4.
Conversly, with that board, I think your bet on the river was bad too. What do you do if you get raised? You have to call, of course, but do you really want to put another $2 in the pot? Why not just check and call? One of them will bet it for you... |

Sorry to stray off topic, but on PokerStars whats the point of not showing your hand if it just comes up in the summary. I assume it doesn't do this if there is no showdown right?

I think I agree with the suggestion to have bet on the turn – if someone’s on a flush draw here, I like making them pay for it. Especially at lower-limits, pound away with superior hands. Though to be fair, there’s no reason to expect it will be checked all the way around – you’d think someone would represent the flush. But I don’t see any reason not to bet the river, especially since the fourth diamond didn’t fall. And the table has just proven it’s happy to check all the way around. So even if you are raised, it represents, what, top two pair or middle trips? You’ve got ‘em beat either way. |
