He explained his logic in the 2+2 thread, and I liked it. Basically, he figured his greatest chance to survive was to fight back right then. If he didn't, once they had him subdued, he thought it would be easy for them to kill him, and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

i think that his logic was pretty good as well. he has a pretty bad shot once he subdues to the robbers, and essentially he is at their mercy.
in poker terms, he bluff raised them on the flop, and they laid the hand down. |
