Should've posted this before I went out, but I got to read this post before I met up with the guys. They got the info, thanks for sharing it Drew.

We walked up to the room about 11:30 after a meal, some cocktails, and conversation. (Thanks to TP for picking up the tab ). The mixed event was going and we saw pretty much every pro you can imagine.

Ivey, Hellmuth, Gordon, Chan, Esfandari, Juanda, Seidel, Todd Brunson, Harman, Matusow, and the list goes on forever. Pretty cool. There were around 150 left in that event.

After some deliberation, TP, Mayhem, and New Guy (all preregistered) decided to get in line at about 11:30 Vegas time. The line was still enormous and they were estimating a 4 hour wait STILL. They were concerned about waiting til tomorrow (rightfully so) and getting screwed so decided to wait it out tonight. If I had not seen this thread, the guys may have had some trouble, so thanks again Drew.

SJay is planning on playing too, but hasn't registered yet. After last night's spectacle he was too tired to wait in line so I gave him a lift back to his place on my way home. He plans on coming back early in the morning.

It was nice to finally get to meet TP. He's pretty much exactly like you'd expect him to be from his online persona. New Guy was really friendly and interesting too. I really like the 4 guys I've met so far from the forum. Hope I get to meet some more over the next month or so.

Complete dumb ass / douche bag, eh? Heh. It was nice meeting you all too... looking forward to hanging out more.

Back on topic... what a freaking mess. It absolutely amazes me that they are able to mess things up more and more with each passing year. You would think they would improve, but somehow, the registration that took me all of 90 seconds last year (not an exaggeration) was gong to take me 4-5 hours tonight - EVEN THOUGH I PRE-REGISTERED. Are you kidding me?

Did I mention I'm even friends with someone who works IN THE CAGE, taking reservations??? She was able to confirm for me that Mayhem and I were both in the system, but she couldn't give us any special treatment.

After 20 or 30 minutes in line, Mayhem went up and got in another line marked for special cardholders or whatever. some dude literally was walking out and stopped by and told Mayhem (out of everyone) that he should do it. So he did. when he got almost to the front, I had someone hold my place (just in case) and went and joined him. It looked like it was going to work, and then all of a sudden, they close out line and tell us to merge into the other lines. Are you kidding me? these people will murder us! I refused o accept that for an answer, so I went and found someone with some authority, told him what was going on, and told him how to fix it - literally walk us up to the front of the other lines one at a time. It took some doing, but it worked. And the best part was, we didn't need our special cards any more.

It was stil a huge pain in the ass and took us almost an hour and a half in the end, but I'm estimating this saved us at least 2 hours tonight. I actually felt a little bit guilty about this, but Mayhem assured me this is actually GOOD karma, since poker is al about exploiting small edges, and you really couldn't have done a better job with that then we did getting through that line. Well, unless of course you are a well known player, and then they just walk you right to the front and register for you.

The whole thing is retarded. I could design a better system blind folded.

Oh, and those cards were ridiculous too.
