It's a shame you feel that people here aren't receptive to learning new styles and anything other than by-the-book responses. I hope you won't let a few responses along those lines make you stop posting interesting hands, because I am CERTAIN that they don't represent everyone here.
If you post a hand that I don't agree with, I'd still like to think about it and know WHY you think it was a better way to play the hand than the "by the book" way that people tell you you should play. I would think that your results would speak for themselves and you wouldn't let comments from far inferior players upset you. I'm glad you are a part of this community. All I am saying is don't let a few stupid comments keep you from posting more interesting hands. |

I cant imagine what regular would ever look down on a new way to play a certain hand, im guessing it has to be a new person to poker. One of the greatest things about a poker forum is getting new outlooks on hands. It is how you learn is seeing a new or different way of playing a hand, it might not be your style or way to play it but you can always take bits and pieces from someone elses strategy and apply it to your own game to in the long run improve.
I know I personally would love to have your knowledge on hands and welcome you to post more MTT hands because like you said I think the HA section is overrun by cash game hands. That is mainly because most of the sucessful players on this site that post are cash game experts. So go ahead and post some up please.

disclaimer: This is more of a stream of consciousness response to TP and Raistlins recent posts.
------------------------------------------------ TP and Raistlin return to a key point that can easily be lost sight of. This is a fundamentally adaptive game. We have to be open to new views on strategy and tactics. However, it is also a game that requires a certain amount of courage and confidence. We can very easily get into a "I am right" stance on a particular point. I also don't mind the idea of posting (responding) on situations that a person does not have much experience in. I like bouncing my understanding off of others to see if it sticks. If I am really uncertain, I'll ask a question. (lord knows I have jumped into hand discussions this way) It's all about approach. Are the people in question... trying to learn? being open minded? not acting like big meannies? working with both questions and answers in the spirit of productive mutual exchange? With regards to Herschel's previous posts; I recall some very thought provoking discussions about the difference between cg play and tournament play in terms of maximizing value. But, it's supper time so I won't fish for that nuggent of evidence. BRAG: It's Fettuccine Alfredo night BEAT: We are out of ice cream for desert
