It has to do with the way PT (used to?) calculate BB/100. I want to say it used to count this as BB = BIG BET (which is double BB = Big Blind), so people started using ptBB to differentiate.
I know melioris was solid on this and how it worked. |

WA/WB are added. I have never encountered KYS or KMS on this forum. Are they common enough to include? I wanted to be careful about putting too much in the general online terms, so I have been trying to limit to ones I encoutner on this forum.

thanks for the reminder INV, I saw TPs post and meant to respond but then forgot. And I had to laugh as his lazy ass knows this as well as I do but for some reason he just passed the buck (taking the same amount of time as he would have just to answer the question). ok, so the difference between BB/100 and ptBB/100 is pretty simple.
BB/100 is big blinnds per 100 hands ptbb/100 is big bets per 100 hands or 2 times the big blind per 100 hands. PT was designed by limit players and therefore when they calculated the bb/100 number, they used big bets (the turn and river bets in a limit game). I think it is corrected in PT3 and HM to be big blinds/100 but it doesn't really matter. bb/100 is a live game measure IMO and for online I prefer $/hour or buyins/hr as a more informative measure of winrate as it then corrects for multitabling. |

I THOUGHT I knew that, but I wasn't sure. Passing the buck from my lazy ass to yours was the best solution.
