We use to run weekly leagues, and they were a ton of fun, but participation dropped and no one wanted to take the initiative to set everything up, and they just kind of went by the way side.

I think having private games like this semi-regularly is a great idea. If we start getting enough participation, we could definitely set up another league for early next year.

Thanks for coming out to both of you! There were a few names I didn't recognize. The guy that finished 2nd was one of my home game regs that packed up and moved out West a couple months ago so it was nice to be able to play in the same game as him. (Never made it to the same table)

We seem to have some pretty decent success with these if they're not scheduled too close together and on a good night. Since I'm not a football fan I didn't even think about the game interfering with attendance last night. But a monthly TP game I think wouldn't be a bad idea.

The leagues we use to have were a lot of fun but they were a lot of work and required a pretty decent commitment.

I'm already in a couple of forum leagues, so I'd rather not get tangled up in yet another one. I don't much like them to be honest. Too much effort to try to make every game and those that play more games accumulate more points and so forth. Altho, I don't know how your league games calculate points but most are calculated in same way, more or less.

If this forum was to have a game once or twice every week, we'd be able to join and probably have more friends (if given enough notice) play as well.

Hopefully you don't expect them all to register at this site, since many already have their own forums and don't wish to add new ones. I myself, just wander to any forum that's offering private tournaments. As I was discussing with JrsyLady last night, we both enjoy playing random different forum private tournaments, so you can count us both in...but not if it's based on a league set type tourney.

No worries! Even if a league does pop up next year sometime there will still be regular non-league forum tourneys to enjoy! As well, if it's me that's setting it up, it won't be exclusively for members of this site, friends and family will always be welcome! Probably wouldn't be once or twice a week around these parts but once every couple weeks is certainly a possibility.

I think that since Mayhem had so much fun with the 2-7 Triple Draw last night, that's what we should make the next one - all 2-7, all the time!

Just kidding. Maybe just a standard HORSE. Maybe Badugi - I know you mentioned it last night in the chat. I just want us to have some fun!

All that said, anyone that WANTS to join this forum would absolutely be welcome!
